In a previous thread there was discussion about weight gainers and how they're so great because of macronutrient breakdown. I think whole foods are a hell of a lot cheaper. Here are some just to start:

Oatmeal: 30 servings, 150 calories per serving, $2.00 (US). 5 grams protein, 27 carbohydrates, and 3 grams of fat.

Pasta (elbow macaroni): 16 servings, 200 calories, $1.50 (US). 7 grams protein, 42 carbohydrates, 1 gram of fat.

Potatoes (sack): Servings vary (usually, at least of what I counted at home 16-20), 100 calories each, $2.00 (US), 0 protein, 26 carbohydrates, 0 grams of fat.

So far you proved carbs are cheap.

You can chug crisco, thats cheap too.

Non-sugar carbs, for the most part. These are complex carbohydrates. Not just that, but they do have protein in them (except the potatoes). Also, it's proof that it's fairly simple to get your caloric needs in from simple foods.

Sure, but its a lot easier drinking 1200 calories then it is eating them, I'm with you though bro. I love food. I can easily get down 6-7k calories a day without thinking twice about it. Too bad I'm a fatty.

Yeah, I'm an endo-meso. I feel your pain, man. But lately, I just have had a hard time getting in 2300-2800 calories. It's all good, though.

HUH??? I can do that in my sleep... lol
My wife makes a healthy pizza for me... and I eat the whole thing... about 2000 cals... lol... whole wheat crust, fresh tomatoes/sauce, fresh mushrooms, spinach, onions, peppers, garlic (lots of it), pineapple, lean turkey saugage, some "bad" fat-drained pepperoni, fresh mozzeralla (lots of it), and usually some other healthy cheese (feta, goat, cheddar, etc..)... and lots of olive oil...

I had a problem going from 3500 to 5000 for my bulk from last year... but liquid protein shakes were only the last 800 or so cals... the rest was food... and lots of toliet paper!!!!

I have a hard time staying under 3k...your doing something wrong, or eating all fiberous carbs

try eating some peanuts, or a jar while your at it
