i was wondering if its a good idea to drink energy drinks before working out? like an energy drink you can add to water?

i have some caffiene pills but never used them for lifting, is it a good idea to be drinking energy drinks thou?i mean when im lifting?

It probably doesn't matter much. I think Unholy is saying you can get the same effect with caffeine pills.

Pretty much, I wouldn't waste my money on "Energy Drinks" I would just have a glass of water with caffeine. Personally I take 800-1400mg, I wouldn't recommend it.

I personally love drinking energy drinks... I love the taste of monster. And Monster LoCarb is only like 20 cals for a 20oz can... never thought about drinking them on a workout.

My preworkout drink is a large iced coffee with a touch of milk and 3 sugars.Im gonna get me some NO-xplode in two weeks and use that from now on.

Pretty much, I wouldn't waste my money on "Energy Drinks" I would just have a glass of water with caffeine. Personally I take 800-1400mg, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd second that. Unholy takes an INSANE amount of caffeine because he's a tank. Don't do that because you're not.

Take about a fourth of that amount to start out with, if you wanted to.

If you NEED an energy drink, that means youre not getting enough energy from just normal food.. that is a bad thing, in my view. If you eat healthy and lift regularly, you should have tons of energy... these energy drinks are sugar and caffeine and they suck..

I still wanna try it though.I eat low carbs and Im not getting the pump I like when I workout.No-Xplode increases pump,gives u creatine and gives u energy.Seems like a good product for me.

I will not use it as prescribed though.3 scoops every day is ridiculous since your body will build a high tolerance to that amount of caffiene.I am trying to wean off stimulants as right now its cups of coffee in the moring to get me going.Just worked out and needed a monster drink to kick me into gear.

What I will do is just use one scoop every other day on weightlifting days.Gonna try to cut all caffeien out of my diet.Ive done this before and just used coffee on workout days and you really get zipped this way.

Also,at 3 scoops per week the jar will last me almost 4 full months.

lol man thats ****ed. I take 25mg ephedrine and 200mg caffiene and i'm ****in wired. My hands shake and **** after my workout... I took 400 mgs caffiene last week and i was sweating like a hostage for hours...

So, your going to be getting about 2 grams of a ****ty blend of creatine every other day. Your also going to be using a miniscule amount of l-arginine, which probably will not increase your pump one bit. Also you will get a bit of caffiene, which you don't want. You're going to pay atleast 50$ plus tax to have some tastey juice before your workout once or twice a week, pure genious.

lol well i got free samples of all the flavors... The fruit punch and the blue rasberry are both incredible, the lemon lime, grape, and orange or terrible. Still a waste of money, especially if you use it everyother day, at half of the smallest dose...

:I crash too hard after caffiene rushes. Eating a good complex carb (oatmeal) 2 - 3 hours prior gives me enough energy to get started.

Since doing Bill STarr's 5x5 routine, which includes a lot of volume, I also sip about 20-30g of dextrose throughout the workout.

yeah the blue raspberry is incredible lol, better than any juice i've had... My friend had peach protein it was soo good.
