Alright, so I just read your thread on "easy dieting to get ripped"

whats the "easy dieting to get bulky"

just wondering how much to eat, lets say for a 200lb person.

a lot of people say to eat a lot of carbs.

i read in flex that you should 2.5g carbs per pound...which seems like a lot!

my question is, what if you arent active...meaning that you mostly sit either in school or work...and the only exercise you get is when you work out? how many grams should i shoot for.

anyone feel free to answer.

thanks!

Usually a good rule of thumb is to take your lean body weight multiply it by 15
Example:

220 X 15= 3300 X 33%=1089/4calories=272.../ by 9 calories 121

Protein= 272
carbs= 272
fat=121

If you dont gain weight add more calories but keep them balanced. Also if your not gaining muscular bodyweight make sure your are training smart.

PS- I am not in favor of bulking so if My Goal was to gain muscle while keeping fat the same or maybe increasing ever so slightly Id
go with
Lean Bodyweight X 12 +200
so in the example above, id eat 2840calories. broken down into 33%.

To build mass you really want to eat a bunch of carbs. 2 grams per bodyweight sounds good. More importantly just eat a lot of calories.

*** I would be more specific and say that the amount of calories taken in will determine how much bodyfat goes on along with the muscle.
Bulk smart, eating more will make you fat.

he weighs 200?

200/2.2=90Kg
90*24=2160 his Basal Metabolic Rate
2160+500=2660

So consume around 2700-2800 calories a day.

"So consume around 2700-2800 calories a day."

That might be true if you were to sit in front of the TV all day.

I eat less than 2700 calories per day and I weigh 230lbs..

Well that it a clean bulk for a 200lbs guy. Assuming no cardio and just lifts weights.

Anyway im the only one to give him a caloire amount so STFU unless you can come up with something.

Hey treetrunks, just wondering on yer calculation thingy. Does that pretty much work for everyone, so a 230 lb guy would burn 2500 calories a day?
So if you wanted to lose weight how much would you eat, and if you wanted to gain how much would you eat, considering that you lift 4 times a week for around an hour each time?
Sorry if this is too hard of a question, but I'm just wondering about your calculation.
