hey guys ive been looking into protein supplements and theres two im looking into getting one being muscle milk and it says it has creatine GCC in it, which as it says isnt creatine it just boosts your bodies production of creatine, so would that be the same as taking creatine? if so do you need to cylce it for example like take it 1-4weeks then dont take it for a week and so on.

ive also been looking at MRI's pro-nos...anyone know if this one is any good as a protein supplement?

never heard of GCC...just supplement with plain creatine monohydrate, its cheap.
ps you dont have to cycle creatine.

another vote for mono, just make sure it has the creapure label on the side.

Why?

I believe it has something to do with absorbtion and mixability but I am not 100 percent. I'm pretty sure that is what I read though

your understanding of what it is really doesn't support your solid endorsement of it.....

Why?So the creatine can safely be assumed to be 99.9% pure or higher.

I only use creapure. I know there are some other quality products but it's very good and very cheap.

Yeah. If it's not, you might be getting some non-creatine in your creatine. This could cause serious placebo side-effect.

Yeah. If it's not, you might be getting some non-creatine in your creatine. This could cause serious placebo side-effect.I was actually just pointing out what the creatine label meant. I agree with your sarcasm that it really doesn't matter. Unless the non-creatine is arsenic. ;)

I'm sure there's a study somewhere that claims this is good for you. :)

On a serious note. What if it's sodium? Might that cause some fluid retention? I've heard the chinese stuff can be around 80% leaving lots of room for sodium.

Well it is used in natural medicine.

Why would they add sodium? If they add salt, it'd probably clump beyond all recognition.

But even then, even if, say, half of the 20% were salt (unlikely), that'd mean in 5 grams of product you'd get in about 300mg of sodium.

Not going to kill you.

Excellent question. I've heard that HPLC analysis picked it up. I would presume it's cheaper than creatine...
