If you need to eat 3000 calories per day to lose weight, and eating 20 bananas a day keeps you at or under 3000 calories per day, you'll still lose weight just fine.

Weight loss (and gain, for that matter) isn't a matter of *foods, it's a matter of calories.

(* = I'm all for eating clean though, bulking or cutting. Either way, eat less that maintenance and you lose, eat more and you gain. Simple as that.)

Berries. High in fibre and antioxidants, delicious, and lower in calories than other options - so you can eat more of them.

Good luck!

All great advice ... particularly re: the berries with their fiber and antioxidant properties. Grapefruit are also a good choice as they aren't as laden with the natural sugars as some other fruits out there plus there is a school of thought that they may contain properties which help to curb the appetite.

Regardless, as Outshine pretty much already stated, if they fit into your daily dietary macro's any fruits are fine.

Berries. Strawberries are particularly good for cutting.

Why strawberries in particular?

Not that I mind - I totally love strawberries!

Volume vs. calories. More filling for less cost (cost equalling calories).

For nutrients I go with raspberries and blueberries...more nutrient dense.

This has to be a joke. If someone ate all their calories worth of bananas, wouldn't they lose muscle? I thought you need lots of protein on a cut so you don't lose the muscle you lose with the fat.

^ dude it was a joke. But it is true...

To the OP, Berries(like everyone else has said) are awesome. I like my banana or apples before my HIIT or workouts to help fuel them.

kiwi. They have almost 0 effect on insulin response.

(Look up trutina dulcem, the new sugar they're adding to foods which is derived from kiwi)

Watermelon is just sugar and water though, sugar turns into fat. Unless your looking to gain some fat.

What do you think all fruit is? Mostly water, some sugar, and antioxidants.

Watermelon is no different.

What makes watermelon dangerous in my opinion is that fact that there is so much of it, it tastes really good, and it never fills you up.

I like berries as well.

I agree on kiwis.Something I've read also on papayas.

Papayas have some kind of enzyme that readily break things down in digestion. so not only is it good (and tasty) but it helps you get the nutrients to your muscles faster as well.

Not that I mind - I totally love strawberries!Strawberries are an aphrodisiac, too. More reason to love them. (no pun intended)

Personally, I love blueberries. I could eat them by the pint every day if I were so lucky.
