Nitrean (http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?p=1756054#post1756054). I've used a lot and it's hands-down the best, IMO. I'd say that even if i wasn't a member/mod on this forum.

:withstupi although I have never tried ON. They are reasonably priced, so if I were to stop using Nitrean which I don't plan on doing, I would go with ON.

Well, when you compare somethign to the best it's always going to taste worst......
If you are looking for a blend, I believe that Nitrean is the way to go. If you are looking for straight whey, you can't go wrong with ON

Right,
Finally, i get a chance to test out the MET-RX Whey (Choc)...
Ive read on the tub and it indicates that 28g of protein should be mixed with 250ml of water...for each serving.... is this enough? or should i increase it?
My friend purchases MET-RX protein (5lb) for about £30... and from most shops (UK) it costs £40.
Is there any sites that sell cheap protein drinks??
Also whilst reading the info on the tub, it showed me that every 100g of protein contained 383kcals.... isnt this a lot?

Out of all the proteins I've tried, ON 100% whey has probably been the best. although, I haven't tried nitrean yet, which seems to be popular on here. but if your looking for a well priced protein which is just whey, i'd give ON a try.

A point missed due to brainwashing by the supplement industry is that no one should EVER be looking for a whey-only protein. It is an inferior protein source relative to a quality blend like that found in Nitrean. You can reference studies on Pubmed.com for verification of this statement.

In terms of inferior quality ... how much worse? What does inferior mean in usage terms? (eg - are you saying that it doesnt get processed by the body as good?)
I use Prolab PureWhey and wouldn't dream of using anything else mainly because it tastes so good.

Your Whey is fine. All Whey protien have there place and i hate when they are called inferior on this site. its like apples and oranges. Whey mixed with milk is just as good as a blend of whey and casein protiens.

Thats what I think too...
I generally mix 2 scoops with milk. Milk gives the strawberry one i use a great taste.

tuna and water, blendered into a thin beverage.
:)
j/k - Nitrean.
For a cheaper solutions, Body Fortress chocolate is pretty good. But I think it's an inferior product.

Tested out the MET-RX whey protein (choc) this morning....
Its kinda tasteless..... if i was to add a sweetner then it would improve the taste...
But its not painful drinking it.. i can live with it....

No, no it isn't. Especially not if you are trying to lose body fat.
You "HATE" it? Unfortunately you have been brainwashed by the supplement industry. For what application would a whey-only powder be superior to a quality blend in your opinion?

Oh, and just an FYI for everyone out there, if the cost of raw milk based proteins continues to increase you are very soon going to start reading about the virtues of vegetable based proteins and how they are "better" than milk based proteins. Mark my words.
In other words, the industry will shift to a cheaper form of protein and tell you it is the **** and sell it for a big profit. There will then be people on forums who "hate it" when someone tells them that vegetable based protein products are inferior to milk based products.

I'd have to agree with him here. Chris could you clarify what you mean by "inferior"? I thought whey protein isolate was the purest and fastest acting form of whey. Isn't the purpose of whey to send fast acting proteins to your body/muscles? ON 100% Whey contains this, 4 grams of Glutamine, and 5 grams of BCAA's per scoop. It also is extremely affordable and tastes great!
I have been a past user of Nitrean. It tastes alright and it does have no saturated fat (ON 100% has 0.5 g per scoop, which isn't much anyway), but in terms of price and taste (by a big factor), I think ON 100% Whey is better.
But please educate me on how ON 100% is inferior to Nitrean.
Thanks!

A protein drink isn't going to magically make you keep your muscle. It is just food. You need to examine your diet and training and figure out what is wrong with it.
