For the last month or so at work I've been ordering two tuna sandwiches for lunch everyday. Usually 4 days per week...

People have been telling me I'm going to destroy my kidneys from the mercury content in the tuna.

What do you all recommend?

Reading around online, it says something like no more than one can per 3 days, however, I think I'm having atleast a can 4 days a week as is (not sure how much tuna it takes to make two sandwiches).

I'm 160lbs and very healthy otherwise. I drink tons of water for my creatine and glutamine supplements.

If you're really worried, stay away from albacore and other larger tuna that are high on the food chain.

Ok, so from reading that link, I feel like I'm at an extremely high risk.

So I can stop eating so much tuna. I'll probably change to around one sandwich three times a week and try to eat more red meat hamburgers or something at lunch.

Now - I've been doing this about 1-2 months. Should I get checked out by a doctor for my mercury contamination?

...and it's not just your kidneys. Your nervous system is going to get F'd along with other organs.

if you dont feel sick now, you're probably fine!
depending on the source of your tuna, you might want to cut back.

If it makes you feel any better, I ate two cans of tuna a day for probably 3 years straight. I no longer eat any tuna though, but that's only because I got sick of disgusting tuna, and it has been replaced by yummy chicken.
