View Full Version : Myth or Fact: Bread goes to your tummy?

Ok everyone -
I'm 5'11, 170lbs.. been working out on WBB routine for 6 weeks now. ALL my lifts have gone up in weight and I notice a nice slight change in my body. My diet has been CLEAN food, lots of protein.
However - I have been eating LOTS of white bread every day. Be it in sliced form, rolls, or sandwiches. If I flex my body, everything looks great.. but if I relax my muscles totally.. my tummy kinda relaxes into a nice round little "budah" shape. Not terrible but noticeable. And I consider myself LEAN.
I heard that alot of white bread causes your stomach to bloat. Is it the carbs? Or is this all bullshit and is it just my genetics?
Any advice or ideas you guys have would be great -
I'd love to have nice tight abs WITHOUT flexing...
it all depends on how and when you eat the food that counts for whether it goes to your gut or not
food that's 'good for you' eaten wrongly might end up with poor results
on the flipside, food that's 'bad for you' can be eaten too, depending on when u eat it
e.g. white bread, traditionally frowned upon because of its high GI rating, is eaten by some post-workout cuz it gets carbs into your system fast.
Post your diet and maybe we can see what is up

bread high in soduim, which helps retain water.
also if you glycogen stores are high you will hold lots of water as well.
this does not mean you are fat.
I think I am often bloated and if took a duiretic I would look a lot different quickly but without loosing any fat.
Bread will only you fat if over eating.
eat wholemeal bread over white aless you can't stand wholemeal bread.

This is it for me too! I'm THIN but my stomach seems "bloated" but hard still. Its weird. Like I said, if I flex my stomach muscles, I look fine.. but when I relax them... heh.
Ok, here is my new diet. High protein, medium carb, low fats..
1. breakfast: 4-6 egg whites w/ glass milk or water
2. next: 4oz chicken breast with mixed vegetables / water
3. post workout: whey shake w/tbspn natty peanut butter and scoop of natural oatmeal
4. dinner: chicken or fish w/vegetable soup or split pea soup w/water
5. either natty PB on wheat bread or chicken breast on wheat bread or turkey on wheat bread w/ low fat mayo w/water
Also, I take 2g of creatine a day.
What do you guys think of this diet? I have removed ALL the rolls, white bread and unnecessary carbs. But have I gone tooo low?

100% WHOLE WHEAT BREAD!!
I eat a few slices everyday.
hmm..your diet looks ok but what's the calorie count on that? seems little to me.
