Do you do it? What does it do? Why should I do it, why shouldn't I do it?

I have had problems touching with a 2 ply poly shirt. Since wetting it down, it does seem to help get the bar lower, but that may be just from continued stretching of the material. Since it seems to help, I will continue to wet it. Just make sure you hang it up to dry after the workout. There are no "cons" in wetting the shirt that I can think of. It won't hurt the shirt.

Helps the shirt stretch.

If I'm breaking in a new poly bench shirt, yes, I do it.

^^ +1 I think wetting and stretching the sleeves on a bench shirt is really important for a good fit.
