While shopping for food today at Sam's Club I noticed that they had boxes of Powerbar Powerformance Bars on sale for 10.99 for a 30 pack ($.37 a piece). At that price I couldn't pass it up as I sometimes don't have time to eat before class during school.

I included a link to there website so that you can review it's full nutriontal information.

The breakdown of the nutrional info is as follows:

-1.5 gram of fat
-240 Calories
-22 grams of sugar
-42 grams of carbs
-10 grams of protein

Any information would be appreciated. I understand that I may be able to create a better "powerbar" by making it myself but at school I don't have the resources to do so (oven, pans, etc.).

Before class at school, do you mean as breakfast or in between classes?

I wouldn't suggest it during or possibly pre workout. Snack during school? Possibly, though that depends on its ingredient list. If you could list that or post the link to its ingredient list. That would be helpful.

It is for a snack prior to class in the morning (7 am).

I meant to include the link but forgot.

Their not really "bad". I could nitpick them if I wanted to though. I am curious as to what would be their GI. That to me would be the make or break point for them. If they have a high glycemic load they would be counterproductive to "preventing" hunger and helping with general energy levels.

only 10 grams of protein kinda sucks compared to alot of other bars which have like 30grams of protein but still the same amount of cals and sugar. but i dont know much bout protein bars.
