View Full Version : Abs confusing
I can do turning crunches and lift my legs into the air turn hold and place back down... this is all fine for a six pack which i have now... but it wont do anything for my side abs? dunno what they're called. How do i target these?
I need to 'expand' myself a bit more... grow in mass. but stay lean if that makes sense.

They're called obliques. Do stuff like floor wipers, weighted side bends and crunch twists.

Yeah i love weighted side bends. They even start to work my forearm by the second set cause of holding the dumbbell :P
Obliques. Weighted side crunches, and side bends. There's a whole bunch of exercises to target that group of muscles. Just look...

You can do oblique v-ups. Just get on your right side. Put your right arm down on the ground in front of you and your legs at about a 25 degree angle from the rest of your body. Then, using your elbow as a pivot raise your legs and your head/shoulders at the same time. Don't let them touch the ground in between reps.
That works for me.
