So I finally have my first oly meet coming up and I do have a gameplan on what I want to do but im not sure on what i should do on my c&j today I snatched 135x2 so i'll do that as my first attempt on snatch and not worry about that at all, but for my clean and jerk I was gonna follow this path 205, 215, 225 but I missed 225 for a jerk today and I've never cleaned it I've cleaned 215 and Jerked 215 but never together but im feeling powerfull but I what Im asking is should I dumb my 3rd attempt down to 100kilos(220lbs) instead of attempting 225?

Since this is your first meet, I'd be a bit more conservative. I'd open around 95kg, followed by 98kg and 100kg. Especially in earlier meets in your career, you are better off sticking with good form and going 4 or 5 for 6 then messing up your form to try to get an extra kilo on the bar and then going 2 or 3 for 6.

Good luck in the meet! Let us know how it goes. Get that 100kg for a PR in the c&j!

Definitely go more conservative... nerves and meet issues happen and you want to be incredibly confident on your attempts. 3rd attempts are a good time to try and hit a PR lift I think.

I first read those a kg and was like damn 160 snatch for your first meet.I agree with the others play it safe just in case. Mind you I would go easy on the first and hard on the others lol.

Open snatch with 60kg, clean and jerk 95kg

Go up according to gut instinct, and dont hesitate, when asked what you want to bump the weight to next, say the first number and be feirce about it.

remember, dont swing, get a strong second pull, keep the core tight, stay stable and most importantly LOCK.

good luck.

Well I have good news and bad news the meet isn't till the 22nd I thought it was on the 4th but the 4th is the sign in due date so I'll have around 20 days to get a bit stronger till the meet

I suggest working on positioning in the lead up.

Overhead squats etc and really get comfortable in the motion
