OMFG I had everything planned out for the next day and a half of the food I eat... I was going to measure out some pasta and eat it when needed. I just came home from the gym and my dad and brother ate my pasta now I dont know how much is left/they ate. I asked my mom how much there was before and she said full... it still looks kind of full. I think im going to have to make another batch.
Why does this only happen to me?

Why do you let it bother you. Don't worry about measuring all that **** out. Just eat.

Yeah, UD2 takes alot of dedication and can be a b!tch when it comes to how your family perseves the diet. If it makes you feel any better, my dad's been giving me crap ever since I've started it. Suck it up and look forward to eating normal again once you've finished your cycle.

I would never do a diet that requires that kind of measuring and stuff. I've tried before and was stressing and worrying over nothing at all. My best gains came when I just ate without worrying.
The best diet is the one you can stick with.

Pretty crappy comments guys, seriously.
He is on a diet for a reason, if he just ate what he wanted, the amount he wanted...I doubt the results would come.
To the OP: You should post in Nutrition thread.
To everyone else: Stop being punks and give good advice or none at all.

Damn, didn't know somebody died and made you king. He's worried about a small amount of pasta being eaten. No reason for him to worry about measuring so closely. He can't accurately account for everything so there's no reason to waste energy worrying about this minute stuff.

Okay, maybe that was alittle harsh...my bad. But a year ago when I used to just linger on here there was alot more encouragement and alot less of THOSE comments. I hope Tofer reads this.
I would just like a little more positive outlooks and advice.
"He can't accurately account for everything" <- He was talking about pasta...not everything.
Sorry...

I may very well be taking this waaay to seriously, but this is my first time doing this so doing everything right is important to me.

How long have you been following a serious diet? What does your bf % look like?

I just posted some pics, check it out.
I was on a serious diet for 2 months. When camp started I couldnt count my calories so I just kept concious of what I was eating and I still lost weight. The month of August wasnt too good... aroudn the 1-2nd week I was eating a bit too much and didnt lose any weight.

I have to agree.
If anything he should try to be as perfect as possible measuring stuff now. That way later on he can eyeball everything and it won't be that big of a deal.
OP: I know your pain. My main problem was that my family couldn't understand why I couldn't eat all the junk they eat on a daily basis. Its hard but doable, you just gotta work it out the best you can.

As far as measuring stuff on UD2, it's pretty strict so I can see what you mean. If you don't have much pasta left for the carb load, then you could always use different sources this week and make a new batch next week.

Yeah. I agree with nddillon on this one. UD2 is a very exact science. If you mess something up by not taking the time to measure stuff out correctly, you'll screw things up pretty quickly.
This isn't going to be a forever thing though. For as long as you're on the diet, do things right, but for God's sake, don't take it that seriously when you return to bulking. I think I'd lose my mind to OCD if I continued tracking everything so closely. Just suck it up. 6-8 weeks isn't too much to ask.

Just make more pasta. How long does it take? 15 minutes?

A half a cup of pasta will NOT break the UD2 diet or any other diet. That small amount of food will not have any major effect on ones bulking or cutting diet.
However. Once you get into the habit of breaking what you're supposed to eat you're just setting yourself up for future failures. For instance, most people will rationalize that 1/2 cup pasta doesn't mean much so then 1 cup must not mean much and so on. It starts slowly but before you know it you're nowhere near what you need to be eating. Its a very slippery slope. Thats why I think you should try to be as exact as humanly possible especially when it comes to dieting (refeeds too).

Why? He can't account for all energy expenditures during the day so why should he worry about all the minute ****? It's a pain in the ass and doesn't really matter as much as everybody thinks, unless you're dieting down to contest level bf. I mean if you get your rocks off weighing crap and measuring it out to all these small degrees then great, have fun. It's just not needed. Consistency is far more important than perfection. I've been bulking, cutting and maintaining on a modified UD2.0 type diet, and I don't measure anything. When I cut I got down to some decent bf levels and I've kept the bf off as I've bulked. Unless you're planning on competing, dieting just isn't that difficult.

I give people encouragement who deserve it and save my advice for people who will use it. If that makes me come off as an *******, then that's fine. I think of it more as being a straight-shooter. Too many people around here offerings fake words of encouragement to people who haven't put in the work and don't deserve it, and that pisses me off. Save your time and theirs, and give it to them straight.
