ok i have been in my first cut for about a week now. shooting for 2300 calories from my maintenance of 2800..and sometimes i have troubles filling out the calories coming up short at around 2100 or a bit less. if i am maintaining strength on my compound lifts like bench squats and dead...do i really need to eat more?
If your maintenance is 2800 cals I don't see how you can find it challenging getting over 2100??

i dont know either...i guess whenever im hungry i just tell myself NO. and at lunch i don't want to over eat so i i never get too much. i mean my tray is just loaded, but its like a bowl of lettuce and carrots and brocoli. maybe a turkey sandwhich and a bunch of cottage cheese usually at lunch. but i still never quite get there.
however as long as i mix some whey with a can of YOOHOO before my WO i feel great and can still get my regular bench workout. actually tom i am going to try to add 2.5 to every set.

Try making 2300 calories of food for the following day. Then, only eat what you prepared, and don't leave anything out. It's a fairly good way to make sure you don't go under or over your caloric goal.

then just eat your maintence level cals and source your deficit through exercise. Simple enough, try not to overcomplicate things :)
Whats your current diet look like?
