I've bulked fast and slow. Sometimes I had interruptions of injuries or family/house responsibilities, and took short breaks from the bulk, but overall I trended upwards on the scale.

Now I've torn my knee and need surgery, so I'm ending my bulk and I'm going to be a curl jockey and try for the hip hop abs or something. (lol)

So here's my progression. First bulk, 12 months, 30 lbs.

As an ugly slob:

After I decided to jump rope myself to skinny:

After I found WBB and got some newbie gains:

End of my bulk:

I don't post any of these "2 weeks of progress threads".

So here's a bunch of pics.

And granted, now I'm fat and ugly, and you guys given half the time would have put on twice as much muscle and looked three times as good, but oh well this is what I've accomplished.

Amazing progress for one year man. Good work on the transformation!

Rest those legs and take the time to cut some. Can't wait for another year for more!

Hahaha nice! Your progress over a year is a lot mroe substantial than mine. Do I see a little tummy there? Rub it for good luck!

What was your weight after you "jump roped yourself to skinny"?

Thanks everyone, :)

BF, you're right about seeing some tummy. Actually these photos are somewhat flattering. I have bulk belly. :) yay for suck.

AK, I was 145 when I was at my skinniest. 175 now (fed and wet, anyway, lol).

You look like you have put on some serious size. What were your max lifts when you first started on WBB? Curious how your stregth gains have been. As you can see from my join date I signed up about the same time you did. I know how far I have come and it seems you have come just as far. Good luck in the future.

Levantar, my journal goes back to Oct 1st, though I actually started a little before that. At that time, my bench was 120, my squat was 85, and my deadlift was 120.

Con, I'm not sure what my opinion is on bulking, now that I'm done with mine. I put on a lot of meat, but I'm also back to looking chubby. I guess my overall opinion on it is positive.

When I joined WBB I was 155lbs. I bulked to 195 and was carrying a bit of gut on me. My first cut was catastrophic (thought the same thing, oh no I'm fat!!! When I wasn't.) I ended up around 175-180 lean again and realized that was still at least a 20 lb gain in a year or so.

I bulked again, this time confident that I wouldn't let the fat gain bother me. And I also bulked slower now that I had a little more mass on me (175 is mass? hahahahaha!).
I went to 210 and took the belly off right this time.
I am bulking again now at a starting weight of ~193lbs.
I'm 200lbs on an empty morning and still have low body fat. Trying to break 220 on this bulk and doing it a little slower than usual.

I guess what I'm going after is that the first bulk after having abs for so long is a little scary. But once you learn to take the weight off the right way, it is soooooooo worth it! Also, once you start getting size on, each lbs of fat gain is less BF% and less noticeable.

Stick with it and don't get discouraged. After a cut and another clean bulk you will look great man

I hope that I take it off the right way, can you tell me what the differences were between your cuts?

After I'm lean again, I'll start bulking again, but it'll be a slow, slow bulk. I think that now, after having hurt myself a couple of times, that my attitude towards weightlifting is changing. I won't bust my body to become a hulk, so much as I'll endeavor towards great health.

This **** is a marathon, not a sprint :)
So watch those injuries and listen to your body!

The biggest mistake was trying to lose the weight to quickly. I was so worried about getting lean again that I I wasn't eating enough and I was doing way too much uneducated crap like excess cardio.

I think the prefect way to cut with maximum gains kept on is to just start backing the calories down, carbs first! It'll help with hunger control. Monitor your weight and strength. As long as you are losing weight and your strength is staying, you won't be losing too much LBM.
I wouldn't touch cardio until later in the cut if the last bit starts to be stubborn and you don't want to cut more food out of your diet.

Take it slower than you would like and remember that you are doing it to preserve all those gains you just made!

Then there's the UD2.0 option, but after giving it a go, I think it's best left to those with a life that supports such a rigorous routine. One day off and you can wreck yourself mentally trying to get back on again. I had a tough time with it anytime an unexpected work or school event came up.

good to hear!
Good progress from "skinny" to where you've ended the bulk, added some nice mass. What's your goal for your next clean bulk then, what weight you wanna reach?

My ideal, I think, is 175-180 at approximately 10% bf.

I think that would look pretty bad ass on my frame.

Right now I hover 173-175 at 18% bf.
