I'm looking to get bigger and have read some info but idk where to start. I was thinking my diet is the source and I need to eat right to get bigger. I weigh like 140lbs (give or take some) and 5'7". My stomach isnt real thin but my ribs show and my chest isnt that big either. If I just eat wouldnt I just gain fat on my stomach? I also have a high metabolism.

Eat and lift and stop worrying about getting fat. You're 140lbs for god's sake.

So now that im working out, less calories will be going to fat and more to muscle. Is that the intention of what I should do? Eating healthier foods would probaly help, right?

You're on the right track. The only thing that I think you might want to watch is your protein intake. Get 200g a day minimum. That's what I think. Eat, eat, eat. Don't skip a meal. Drink lots of fluids.

thats over kill if he weights 150lbs.
go 1-1.5 grams per lbs

Would a protien shake a day be a good help? I dont eat really anyhting with protien that often. I also have a bad body thigure...this is posted in the bodybuilding/weightlifiting section.

It would help. but bottom line is your gonna have to start eatting more protein.
