I just looked back in my workout log to see my progression. 7/27/07 max bench press was 335 (raw). 9/21/07 I did 370 fairly easy, my goal is 405. By the way I'm 5'7 220lbs. with about 18-20%BF. I'm almost there and I can smell victory. I had shoulder surgery last June so it has slowed me down some, but I feel like I could hit this goal pretty soon. Possibly 3-4 more weeks. After I get it I think I will try and lean up some (maybe try to get under 10%), and not lift so heavy. I might do a bench meet every now and then for fun.

Good stuff bro. You should start a log in the online journals section.

Great work! You should definitely keep your progress in a journal on here.

16 1/4 and 16 1/2 mostly tri's my bi's don't grow very good and I hate curls.

After I hit the 405 mark on bench I'm really going to focus on leaning down, and working on my lesser parts bi's being at the top of the list.

haha, same man, maybe close to 17 when pumped, our touch and go bench is close too, how much do you squat and dead?

I can't do regular squats as crazy as it sounds because of my shoulder, it hurts to get in under the bar. The last time I squated I went up to 405 and quit because it hurt, the next day I was missrable. Now I do front squats or zirk squats.

I have never deadlifted for a 1RM I did 405 the last time I did a heavy workout with straps. I usally do 225 with bands around 6-8 times, this is another exercise the physical theropist told me to watch because of my shoulder (no pain = no problem, if pain occurs stop). I had my labrium reattached and deads put a serious pull on it. After I get 405 on my bench I'm going to work on my deadlift with really slow pragression I would love to break 600.

Here is a link to the journal I started today, it goes back 2 weeks.

Nice numbers man. But i'm wondering why you have a problem squating but not benching because of a shoulder

Nice numbers man. But i'm wondering why you have a problem squating but not benching because of a shoulder

When I bench I keep my elbows in even though my grip is wide, this causes there to be little strain on the labrum which would put pressure on the bicep tendon. When I squat the bar sits on my back and I don't feel comfortable unless my hands are on the bar a little wider than my shoulders, this puts a serious stretch and pressure on my labrum and bicep tendon. Hopefully after this bench goal, I can focus flexibility in my shoulders and get to where it doesn't bother me. I really used to love squats, not being able to do them is aggravating but I have found some replacement exercises.
