Anyone recommend a certain one? and if so... probably a good (cheaper) place to purchase it.

are those things supposed to make you faster or just run stronger and harder?

I use my body armor but I've heard good things about the X-Vest (http://www.thexvest.com/). It's $170 right now on sale, kinda pricy. Goes from 0-40lb in, I think, 2.5lb increments. There's a 60 and 84lb one too.

Just get some chains and make a vest out of them. It will look way cooler.

plus they will think you are the ghost out of the that christmas movie, lol. You might just scare people out of the gym and have it to yourself.

I've got the 60 lb plate vest (got a crap load of 2.5 lb small plates).

Works nice.. its holds tight to the body, very well made. Strong, and should last many years. I use it for everything... Heck, cutting the grass at a fast pace (45 minutes) gives a nice little work out...

60 pounds doesn't seem like much, but start lightly... 10lbs (or even 20).. 60 is killer when added to other 'methods'.

Its also great for most any type of workout (cept skippin rope, I dont think my knees would like it so I take it off before an mma type workout)... Heavy bag work is loads of fun as well...:)

have fun
