Is there anyone here who has successfully bulked/cut without counting calories?

I think counting calories at one point is important just so you can have an idea of how many calories things have, but after a while does one really still need to?

For about 3-4 weeks I ate food with the mindset of bulking and really didnt gain weight. As a result, I started eating more. I will give you guys a number of how much weight I gained.

This is basically a little experiment im conducting. When I counted calories I felt like I HAD to eat all the time. Now I just eat when im hungry. When I do eat i give myself that little extra... When I have a sub ill put on a bit of mayo, when I have some pizza I get pepperoni. Small things like that.

BF this has been talked about so many times. In fact, there is a good thread you should read that's been up for a while: http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=103461

Yup. I never counted calories outside of just quickly putting stuff in to see around how many calories a shake I made was. I didn't keep track of how much I ate per day or anything though. Instead I just ate, never let myself get hungry and ate protein and calorie dense foods. I ended up going from 180 to 225 I am now with little fat gain too. I went from 265 down to 180 without counting calories either.

Soon I am going to be going for sub-10 BF % though, and I will be counting calories (following UD2.0 and counting calories for most of the week). Until then I don't think it's much of an issue though. At least it wasn't for me.

Im not really into counting calories myself...I bulked from 120 to 169 without counting any calories. I have since cut to 150 probably 12-14% bf...Although Im preparing for a winter bulk, I suppose I would start counting calories if trying to cut to 10% or lower...but abs are overrated! :moon:
