Welcome to my [hopefully successfull] journal! :whazzup:

I know there are tons of skinny kids our there who are just like me and sick of being skinny, and know they have more than their body shows and want to work to get bigger. That is my goal. I play football (season just ended). I was the skinniest dude on Varsity, i only started dback was because i had good form, and i had skill. But i lack football size. So i am a noodle, and i want to become brutal. (but maintain my speed and quickness and agility, and how nimble i am)

So here is a journal that i will write, my workouts, my meals, my go to bed time, wake up time, activities, track times in spring, pictures how much i weigh each week etcc... other things you guys want to know.

I am new at this so please help me out and give me suggestions.


Current Stats
Age: 16 (17 in april)
Height: 5'10
Weight: 137 pounds
Bodyfat: 6.5-7%

Goal for March 2008
Height: 5'10
Weight: 155
Bodyfat: 6.5-8% (i want to gain speed also...)

Goal for August 2008
Age: 17
Height: 5'10 / 5'11
Weight 165-175
Bodyfat: 7.5-9% (maintain my speed)

^^is this doable with hard work?

I currently am very sore from Monday and Tuesday... i didnt keep alot of track of what i did, i will keep more from here on, and be more specific.

but what i did over the two days:
Benchpress: 85lbs 8x3
Dumbbell Press: 30lbs (in each arm) 10x3
Flat Bench Flyes: 20lbs (in each arm) 8x3
Chest Fly: 30lbs 8x3

^^as you can see i have a weak chest/upper body

Squat: 225lbs 10x3
Lying Leg Curl: 100lbs 8x3
Leg Extentions: 110lbs 8x3
Seated Calf Raises: 75lbs 16x3

all that i really worked on involves legs, and chest.
i did not go today because of soreness and i am comming down with a cold.
i plan to lift in the morning tomorrow.

what type of things should i do for abs, lower back, and arms???

can some of you guys help me with getting a good routine together for gaining power, quickness, overall strength, muscle mass, and muscle definition...

i will post some pictures next...

Im in a similar situation except im 17 10 pounds lighter and have a stronger upper body and weaker legs. I usually bench like 115 but i only squat a pathetic 95 pounds, and i hurt my right knee today so im gona take a weak off squats. wats ur diet like.

i havent observed my own diet very much

it is very inconsistent, i eat tons and tons and tons and tons, then dont eat for a LONG time (like the rest of the day), then i eat alot again

i am not at all a consistent eater, but when i do it is crazy

at the end of the week i am planning on giving myself a steady diet involving tons of fooood, imput your ideas :hello:

A lot of fine tuning is gonna take place along the way with everything, be patient and persistent then you can't go wrong. Get in the gym and experiment a little to see what works bests as far as routines are concerned...start making some protein and or weight gainer shakes too. Good luck man.

Ok, i am still a little sick but i didn't go lift yesterday, so i am going today. I am leavin in about an hour.

I worked on my chest on monday, and my legs on, tuesday.

What should i do for my core and lower torso... like abs and stuff?
I dont have any good ab excersises because for some reason i hurt my back when i do most ab excersises... i dont know why, i hurt my lower back very low, around my tailbone... does that mean anything? help me out here

I have been off for a while, but i have not forgotten. I was gettin behind in school But now i am all caught up enough to work out again... :study:

I have now have a designed routine

Yesterday i sprint trained:
Warm up:
Jog 5 minutes, stretch (hold stretches for a minute), Tuck Jumps, Rocket Jumps, Dot Drill
Fly (60ydx4)
Uphill (40ydx8)

Today i weightlifted...

95lbs x 16
115lbs x 16
115lbs x 16

185lbs x 10
205lbs x 10 (calfraise x5 before putting the bar back)
205lbs x 10 (calfraise x5 before putting the bar back)

Standing Calfraise:
90lbs x 20
140lbs x 15
140lbs x 15

60lbs x 20
70lbs x 20
70lbs x 20

Leg Curls:
90lbs x 10
90lbs x 10
90lbs x 10

Leg Extention:
110lbs x 10
110lbs x 10
110lbs x 10

Weight: 137.8 pounds
100m dash hand timed: 11.1s (i want 10.9)
tomorrow i am planning on working on my chest and arms and upper body

i haven't been recording in my journal... but i have been working my ass off (except i really slacked december 15ish to january 15ish)

i still have made SOME progress... not as much as i'd like


December: 136pounds
Now: 145pounds


December: 85lbs x 6-8

100lbs x 8

Dumbell Press
December: 30lbs (in each arm) x 10
Now: 35 (in each arm) x 12

Chest Fly
December: 30lbs x 8
Now: 60lbs x 8

Seated Rows
December: 65lbs x 10
Now: 100lbs x 8

that is mostly what i have increased in
mostly upper body stuff... i haven't changed significantly with leg stuff... i think most of the weight i have gained has gone to my chest...
just wanted to check in to tell yall that i haven't given up on my plan, just haven't been on here in a while

i'm thinking of taking some supplements? right now i just make shakes with whey protein... any suggestions?
