I'm revisiting my diet after eating by feel for a few months (didn't work out to well).
From what i've heard, it's .5 g fat per pound of lean muscle mass and 1 - 2g protien per pound of total body weight.....then fill up the rest of required cals with carbs.

here's my breakdown:
Lean muscle mass: 173 pounds
Calorie requirements = 3700 on bulk

Fat grams/cals = 86/776
Protiein (1g/lb) = 203/812
Remaining carb calories = 2109

...but this is breaking down into 21% fat / 22% protein / 57% carbs.

Any thoughts on this? The carbs seem a little excessive.

Your thinking too much.
Just get enough protein in your diet and fill the rest of the calories from what ever you want. If your concerned about fat intake than just be mentally aware of it.
