I want to gain mass. Want to be big. Weigh in at 169lbs and 18yrs old, 5foot 11inches

Ok, been weight lifting for about a year and a half.

But I finally decided to watch what I eat. No more chinese food or any type of fast food.

My question is, how should my diet be?
A friend told me I should go for 70% carbs and the rest protien and calories.
Sound good to you guys?

Really, what ado Calories and Carbs do?
How much of a amount should I probably be taking every day?
How about the days I dont lift?

That helped out a bit but what do Carbs and Calories do?

What would a good diet be for building mass? 70% Carbs and the rest protien and Calories?

What does he mean by "starchy carbs" and "faster carbs"?

Just eat. Don't make it any harder than it has to be. If you ever get hungry, you're not eating enough.
