So it's really obvious where my problem areas are.
I used to play softball so I have those notoriously big softball player legs.
I don't like them.
And my tummy is really flabby.
So these are my starting pics!

Leggies looking nice... upper body is fine, but for there's room for improvement.

So what are you planning on doing?

You don't look 170. Are you like 6' tall?
Train hard, lift heavy, and be consistent and you'll do fine. You look like you were built for squatting, so you've got that working for you already.

i think you look great, I see you want to lose 30lbs, so do you plan on just cutting calories or do you have a specific routine in mind?

aes1989
11-26-2007, 11:44 AM
I'm actually increasing my calories by a LOT because I've spent the past 6 months starving and binging. But I'm going to try to use Built's routine. I have a basic weight bench with 100 Lbs. of plates. I also have full access to a gym at my college but I am way too self-concious to workout there right now.
I am taking a mandatory PE class there next semester so I would like to lose like 10 pounds before the 7th of January. Which I don't think will happen but I guess it is worth a shot. :] I'm doing cardio and light weights right now and I'm scouring flea markets to find more plates cheap cause I'm broke.

Listen to Built. She knows what she's talking about.

You're not a fat ass, you look very good. But there's nothing wrong with wanting to look better.

What he said.

You look fine. That said if you want to look better then there's nothing wrong with that.

There's no reason to be down on your self though.

but thanksAre you kidding?? You look great. I agree with the others. Try to be more positive, and don't ever think that you're a fatass. I think you look fabulous and don't let anyone ever tell you that you need to lose weight.

Smile and be positive.

My main goals are to tighten up my behind and legs. I'd also like tight arms and maybe those lines in my tummy? Not a full out six pack but lines. haha.

Your not fat by anyone standards. If you wish to trim up a little bit, thats your prerogative but you don't NEED to.

BF% wise your probably in the top 5-10% of the women in the nation as far as being fit goes.

:withstupi: I think as the last 10 people have said you're not fat, far from it in my opinion. You're at a good starting point and improvements will come! Just stay away from mirriors and scales for a month, after one month check up, you will be surprised as to what you can accomplish! GL!

And I started lifting today. :]

Change that signature woman! (delete the pathetic, i know part) Nothing is pathetic. You are taking steps to perfect your body, you should be proud. Built is a phenomenal woman and her advice is golden, so you are in good hands. Gl .

Personally, you look 21.45 times better than 95.34% of girls. Of course there is room for improvement for everyone, but by no means do you have a bad body. Most girls are fat beyond belief and others are so skinny they look like they came out of a concentration camp. You look athletic, the best body a woman can possibly have.

Built is great, she helped me a lot when I was starting out. Her diet tips are exceptional as well as her general advice. Shes very precise and accurate, something most people are missing.

I started off around 145, 5'11, and about 18% body fat. I was in the worst shape you can imagine... fat with no muscle. With built's help Im now at 180 and 15% bf about 1.5 years later. This school year ive never gotten so many compliments. Ive got pics somewhere on this site.

Good luck on your never ending journey!

And BTW I can see why you dont want to go to the community gym, guys are pigs and will stare you down lol.

mickyjune26
11-26-2007, 06:13 PM
me too, unless I can squat 1000 pounds...then it's worth it.

I saw your pics. You do look really good, but I can understand the desire to change.

Isn't it great to know that this is your starting point, and you are just going to get closer and closer to your goals?

That's how I felt when I posted my pics, anyways...

I don't see this "lard" you speak of. Your body looks good as is. Keep lifting and apply the knowledge you'll find here, though, and I'm sure you can fine-tune it to however you want it to look.

out of curiosity, what would be the best workout to make my shoulderblades defined? cause, as you can see, i have this really neat tattoo, and no muscular definition around it.

Lose weight.

You remind me of myself. Ready to take on the challenge but armed with very little knowledge(not an insult, and I am the same way now, but to a lesser degree).

Do a bit of searching, and consult Scarz. He seems adamant about helping you, and is probably one of the better people to do it.

You're on the right path. It takes hard work and a lot of time. You'll get there, just focus on the goal.

no wayWhy are you trying to weigh 85? I hope you realize as you try and add muscle, that muscle is going to make you weigh more. You're not going to have much muscle if you want to stay at 85. I don't care what your doctor said...you're approaching borderline underweight at 85. You're getting into lifting. 85 would be a complete disregard for your lifting goals.
