im going to start a cut next month like a lot of people are going to do to get a good start on getting ready for the summer.
i have strength in school and im trying to get to the 1000lb club...im at 955 and want to add around 15-20 pounds to each lift. do you guys think ill be able to do it on a cut starting next month or will this effect it a lot (im cutting for my first time from 170 to about 155 or so and im 5' 7")
any ideas are very appreciated
Why not try to hit a 1000 total, and then slowly diet?
IMO, keeping a total is easier than trying to achieve a higher one when you start to diet.

well i wanna start the new year off with the commitment to dieting and cutting
but is it realistic for me to be able to gain strength(20 pounds to each lift) on a slow cut?
There is no definite answer. Hence my suggestion above.

New Years is just a day, don't overread its significance as a start point for your dieting. It's mental, you can start whenever you want to . I'd suggest focusing on reaching your current goal, then after that move on to your goal of cutting.

I would take the time to make the strength goals. I say this because 4-5 months is a long time to cut 15 lbs for the summer if you have a sound diet lined up with some dedication. Even at the loss of 1 lb per week your cut should take about 4 months.

ya that is true...i guess ill just stick to my goal then get on the cut
