I haven't been very active on WBB lately between work, vacation and Thanksgiving, but here's a few recent photos.

Thanks qrtart, that makes me feel good about my progress lately. It's been fits and starts for going on twenty years for me (bodybuilding seriously the last 7), and I get discouraged easily, so thanks! Hopefully you'll make even better progress than me in less time. Keep on hulkin'.

Looking large man! Why no leg shots?

You're absolutely right, bro. I need to get a setup where I can actually take decent leg shots. Trouble is, living in a New York apartment, I don't have a lot of room to set up the camera, but I'll do my best. I've been promising leg shots the past couple years on wbb and bb.com, and I still have never taken them...

Maybe this'll light a fire under my glutes...

I guess what I was asking is are you fairly proportionate? If so, that's awesome man

My legs have always been thick and fairly strong; I've never been able to get them cut very much though. I'm kinda ecto/meso on top, but endo in the legs (they're also really long in proportion to my torso). Very weird, but that's how it goes...

Good to hear man. Get the pics up!

Do you hope to get on the stage someday or is this just a hobby for you?

Lord knows the answer to that one. Depends on the day of the week. lol. The idea of competing scares the bejeezus out of me in a way; what if after all that prep and diet hell you don't do well? I don't know that I'd be the most pragmatic of people in the face of disappointment.

I dunno...let's just say I have no intentions of competing in the forseeable future.

You could never know if you could do it unless you tried it at least once. There are many other things you can gain from competing other than a trophy :) You'd meet other local BBers, be able to identify your weaknesses and more importantly, figure out what did and didn't work for you in your contest prep.

Ya know, considering how big I am, I'm not a particularly strong person. My body's not designed for moving large amounts of weight, except for my legs, so if I told you the weights I used, you'd be kinda shocked.

Looking awesome. Your an inspriation for me,I hope to look that good one day.

That's very kind of you, dpdd. As a former 135 lb. toothpick, I hope that I can inspire a lot of guys who don't like their appearance.

Wow, good work man!

Thanks Greg. Greg here too.

Thanks, Herandi. I want to look like your avatar (ok, maybe not green, but you get the idea).

I've been wondering what bigger shots of you looked like since I saw your avatar... You're still huge even full size. Sometimes small pictures seem to exaggerate size and make you look bigger, but not in this case ;)

Based on recent workouts, my incline bench was at 225, squat at 295 (lower back a little off so not as heavy as it had been in the past), leg press at 810. Reps were in the 8-12 range. Nothing noteworthy.

that's all pretty good, you probably use great form doing complete reps, also not many people ever dream of doing 225 on the incline bench lol!! for the rep range you're doing it's all good

Funny that you say that, cause I've made my best progress in bodybuilding in terms of muscle mass when I stopped doing full ROM and started doing like the bottom 80% of ROM on moves like benches and squats, followed by x-reps. I think because I'm tall with long limbs, full ROM for me is a waste of energy on the top/lockout portion of most exercises.

Finally, leg shots! Living in a NYC apartment is hard for doing some photos because you just don't have enough room to do these sometimes, especially when you're taking them yourself. Anyway...here are quads. Let me know what you think.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/nyhulkster/quads12-075.jpg

Here's a couple I took today. I've never really gotten the hang of flexing legs yet, so if anyone has any ideas about it (how wide to stand, how much to turn your knees/quads out, etc.)...

I'm working legs Tuesday; I'll be interested to see how these compare to shots with a quad pumping going.

Something I've noticed about my quads: even when I've cut down to 185-190, I don't notice a big difference in term of separation. Anything I can do to help that?

Your calves seem too small compared to the rest of you :p I shouldn't talk though... I don't remember the last time I did any sort of calf raise!

Overall though, you seem to have a pretty solid physique. What are you goals?

hulkinout
12-17-2007, 10:05 PM
Fair enough. I'll admit I've never made calves a priority. Right now, I know they're proportionate with my neck and arms, but I wanna be a freak, so f**k proportions! :-)

I wanna bulk for the rest of the winter, see how much I can get, then cut in the spring. I've never really done a hardcore cut before cause I hate the idea of losing weight :p, but I know I look better (and bigger) when I'm cut down some...
