hey, i have been reading up on creatine searched the the threads and stuff, there sounds to be alot of good they produce but i was wondering what the downsides of it are? like can you take it if your overweight, i am overweight and going to the gym 3-4 times a week now and lost about 4lbs in 2 weeks just with vitamin and working out but i want fast gain of muscle to eat away at the fat.
if i start to take creatine and protein whats some things i might have problems with?

Creatine causes water retention, up your fluid intake if you begin taking creatine. It only causes problems when you are not drinking enough water.

but i want fast gain of muscle to eat away at the fat. You're not going to quickly gain muscle and lose fat.

What does your current diet and gym routine look like? What are your ultimate goals? What are your stats? (age, height, weight, etc.)

Forget about the creatine for right now. Concentrate on your cleaning up your diet. Start an acount on fitday.com to help track your calories.

Creatine, when combined with a good diet and routine, will result in major changes to your body. This results in none of your clothes fitting right anymore.

That's about the only downside.

17 (18 in 2 months), 6', 226lbs.
as for diet im taking in healthier food taking multivitamin, and omega 3-6-9. those probably have no effect but my gym routine is,
Monday- arms and core
Tuesday- Legs and core
Wed.- little arms but more core
Thurs.- legs, back, shoulders.

i try and slowly work shoulders cause i am recovering from an injury and am limited in shoulder work. i hope to gain ALOT on bicept/tricept, forearm, chest. my legs are pretty good as is but i let the top half go

Your split sucks, so im going to assume your routine sucks too. Check out WBB or BGB routines.

creatine is stored in muscles and when you up your intake via supplementation more water will be drawn into your muscles so you will gain some h20 weight. Because of that drink plenty of water or you can get cramping or some other side effects. Overall it is an extremely safe and effective supplement.

In a nutrition class in college we had to analyze various research articles on supplements to see if they were bogus or not. Creatine was one of the few that did what it claimed.
