I'm already doing my heavy lifts -- deadlifts, etc. Was thinking about getting one of these... suggestions? Any one used any?

Ironmind Captains of Crush(COC) grippers- http://www6.mailordercentral.com/iro...cts.asp?dept=8
Beef Builder grippers(BB)- http://www.wwfitness.com/handgrippers.html
Robert Baraban(RB) grippers- http://www.fatbastardbarbellco.com/RBGRIPPERS.html
Heavy grips(HG) grippers- http://www.heavygrips.com

CoC and HG are the only I tried. Lately Hex dumbbell holds and around the worlds are doing more than the grippers have.

Save your money. Keep Deadlifting. DO 1 arm DB Rows - HEAVY, and hold yourself on a chin-up bar. Add weight if you need to.

One arm deads rock. So do plate pinches and side DB holds. I've gotten pretty good forearm size and strength that way.

Since I have done rack/pin pulls with over 150 more than my deadlift I have noticed my forearms grow. I used to do farmers walk, weighted static holds and a rotating forearm bar but they don't hold up to just pure heavy weight.

I have also found pulling against bands really hammers my grip.

Specifically, what are you looking to do with your grip? Are you looking just to be able to hold onto a heavy deadlift or close a certain level gripper. These two goals would take very different approaches.

I would want to do it to hang onto deadlifts... on 315lbs + after about my third rep the bar begins to slip out... my gym doesn't allow chalk so I haven't tried it yet, I thought maybe it was more of a grip issue though. I also want to have huge looking forearms.

I just picked up the number 1 and 2 CoC's for my grip training. I can get about 2 cm's from closing the number 2. Number 1 is pretty easy.

Gripper holds for time, double overhand barbell and thickbar holds, quit using straps if you are now. These are a few things that can help.

Even though your gym doesn't allow chalk, there are several liquid chalk products out there that aren't as messy and tend to last longer on the hands. I use them for events like tireflips, but have also used them when in commercial gyms. They leave less mess on the bar and plates also.
