havent posted here in a while, but have a pretty cool comp of my transformation over the last few years. Have been able to get some good lifts--most recently 315 flat bench, unassisted, and 225 flat bench for 20 reps--unfortunately, low back problem (herniated disc) has kept me from heavy deadlifts. Am looking at bulking to 190 or a bit more, cutting in spring, would love to get to single digit bf if possible. Appreciate all comments and suggestions. More info--I'm 42 (43 next month) and 5'8". thanks. - Mike

Hey, nice work old man! ;)

You look like you were in pretty good shape at 39 - how long you been lifting?

You look pretty jacked. That's awesome that you can continue improving your physique into your 40s.

nice job man

Thanks, I had been working out without a lot of progress throughout my 30s, hurt my back, and once i came back to lifting seriously in 05, really committed myself, found a great trainer, and asked him to help me step it up, and I've seen better results than i ever had previously. Wish i'd gotten this serious in my twenties, but glad i'm getting somewhere now. thanks again--mike

Whoa :O You look really good. Also I think it is great you can still be improving that much when you are at that age. :P

Thanks all-for whatever reason, I don't think of my age as an issue, maybe cuz I can't compare my progress to any other I had previously--I just know that I'm doing pretty well now. As for shaving--thinking seriously about doing it when I cut this fall. Here's wishing everyone a good holiday, took a quick break from preparing for the fam to come over for xmas--gonna get back to it, and eat a huge amount of turkey this afternoon!
