800 on trap bar at 308 no suit, no belt, no wraps.

I did pull conventional on a regular bar once in the last ten years and tore my bicep with 675 (I finished the lift easily). Not bad for once a decade.

I guess this just looks worst then it is. I don't think he is tooting his own horn at all.

Sgt Rock (Brent Howard) is a deadlift specialist. A nice guy too apparently, also this wasn't his first post, his first post was the one in the intro section talking about how glad he is to be here on WBB.

http://www.atlargenutrition.com/deadlift_specialist_brent_howard_interview.php

Heres an interview article that ALN did with him a while back.

700 @ 220.

But that was back in a different day, 1997.

I am 43 now and struggle with back issues and the frustrating part is that I know the strength is there. A couple of years ago I worked up to 610-6 or 7 reps(just belt). Then the back flared up. I am working on the Mackenzie back alignment techniques and it seems to be helping. I had developed an odd lean to one side when stressed. Really don't think I have the drive and energy to be as good as I once was. But in my peer group(oldsters) I am doing pretty well.

my best as below

garjagan
01-19-2008, 08:16 AM
BW: 160 pounds. Height: 5'10.

Hit a PR yesterday - 375 sumo (w/belt), there was a little hitching at the very top of the pull and as soon as I locked out, the weight prized my fingers open and I dropped it, but I was still satisfied with having a bit more than my BW on each end of the bar.

damn we have some strong lifts in here!
my best was a 335 lbs conventional @ around 150-155 lbs bw. my main problem seems to be my grip. i recently bought a pair of straps so we'll see if it helps.

It is a very wide foot stance style where you hold the bar with your hands inside your legs.

See Chuck pull:

Wow, I'm a big pu***.

295 lbs. @ 200 lbs. bodyweight.

I haven't tried mixed-grip deads yet, which I know will make things easier, and I can do 285 lbs. x 5 pretty damn easily, so I know my max is much more then 295 lbs. I just haven't tried yet. I'm taking things slow since I know a deadlift injury would really screw me up.

My best sumo is probably 365; I've never tried going heavy in sumo.
