OK starting a Log here....

Friday 1/5/08
Squat day briefs and loose poly suit straps down,
Today was a top end workout for me so I used the monster bands I figure them to be 300+ at top
145x3,235x3,325x1,415x1, pre heavy set workset 505x2, added loose wrap 600x1 deep and easy (was around 900 at top) I will either double this next time and or go heavier.

Stiff Legged deads raw no belt,

That was all I had time for

Bench assistance,

Blast strap pushups supersetted with Blast strap rev flys.
4 sets 10 each

Db incline bench,
60x20,75x20, workset 115x15

Chest supported side raises palms facing forward,
35x12x3 sets

Reg standing DB side raises,

Heres where I got sick and got the dry heaves so I got a gatorade from the front desk.. Ran my carbs to low today :bang:

still feeling ill I did 5 sets 10 tricep pressdowns 120lbs

Got out of there and picked up some dinner on way home, now I am happy again :)

Shirt bench,
Just trained by myself tonite didnt have much motivation and was still pretty sore from the assistance day earlier in the week so I went light and used my torn shirt ( I use this to get minimal assistance fromt he shirt but keep my same grove)
3 Board bench,
raw 95x20,135x15,185x12,225x5,315x5,added shirt and boards 405x3,495x3, 605x3 wow that was surprisingly harder then I thiought it would be, It must be cause im still sore from the assistance day, I'll take it easier this week and go after it next week on shirt day. Gotta get some idea where my bench is cause Im looking at lifting at the next asylum meet on feb 17th...
Gonna try and squat on saturday....

Blast strap rotator arm circles,
2 sets 10 internal and external

side db raises
25x12x5 sets
one arm rev flys
25x12x5 sets slow
SP machine,

strict pressdowns,
120x12x6 sets
overhead one handed cable ext,
60x12x5 sets

stopped there wanted to be fresh for shirt work on thursday...
I am gonna try a simple experiment I will do only blast strap pushups for raw bench assistance for the next 4 weeks and do my shirt training as usual and see if I can increase my bench without actually raw benching with db's or a barbell.

Dead day
back to pulling
I havent pulled on a shceduled dead day since week before thanksgiving when I pulled 705 at a lifting exhibition at Ictus Christian club.

Deads against doubled minni bands on jumpstretch platform,
suit on straps down135x3,225x1,added straps and belt315x1, workset 405x2 will add 20lbs a week to these

Reg conv deads
suit straps up and belt
405x1x3,500x1x5 will add 20lbs a week to these

Stiff Legged deads,
245x5,365x5 will add 20lbs a week to these as well

Cool workout, the platform band pulls were sweet, coulda hit 4-5 reps but stopped at 2 so I can work these up over the next couple weeks. I would like to hit a double with 500 eventually I have a pr of 500x1 so if I can double it in the near future that would be cool.

Was a cool vibe in the gym tonite felt the holy spirit moving among us.

Back workout:

Wierd plate loaded Lat Pulldown machine,
it kinda looks like a sciszor (sp) but it really pulls your lats out and in as it ranges so I like it just cant put much weight on it.
3 plates per side x10x4 sets

One handed T-bar row on the landmine,
100lbs plus the barbell x 12 x 4 sets

Underhanded barbell shrugs,

Incline chest supported lateral raises,
15lbs. per side x12x4 sets

One handed rear delt raises,
25x12x3 sets

Db curls, 30x12,35x12,30x12,30x15
Barbell curl, 115x8x4sets

All done!

Shirt Bench

Todays plan was to eclipse the last band (top end) workout. 3 weeks ago I used a 2 board and hit 535 with 325lbs of tension. For this workout I wanted to drop it down to a 1 board and use more bar weight sooooo


add 3 board and shirt, 405x1, drop to 2 board 495, drop to 1 board 585x1 Had to get out of groove but touched, added 1 Gb and 1Pb under bench (125lbs. tension)585+1Gb+1Pbx1 wow that one felt real heavy groove was all weird, went to 2GB's -(150lbs tension) 585+2GB's x 1 much better groove, We switched it up to hundred lb plates here cause it seemed like the plates were interfering with the bands to much so bar weight changed a bit....Added another green band (3GB's= 225lbs.)
soo last set 1 board 615+3GB's x 1 wasnt so bad felt pretty heavy up top but once I got it under control it was a done deal....

At first I wanted to shut it down cause the first set with the bands was real rough, but I couldn't go out like that

I have always liked that verse!

I saw in an earlier post that you sometime dont have a workout partner. Do you just ask for assistance from someone nearby? The reason I ask is that I dont have a partner either and asking for spots is usually iffy (I've had some bad ones:tuttut: )

I train on my light days alone and usually dont need anyone for pulling but I just cant have a heavy day benching or squatting without help and even then sometimes its a skeleton crew so I set up safety chains on the mono... but that being said we do have a pretty large team out here just hard to get everyone on the same page...

5 sets 12 reps, Then I added a set of 12 with my feet raised up wooohhooo... these are getting easier and much more stable, this only means my shoulder is getting more stable Yippeee

Db shoulder press,
The last 2-3 yrs I have been really weak with these due to my left labral tear so I started light and worked it up.
25x12,40x12,55x10,70x10,90x10 I know it aint that much but this is totally awesome I havent been able to do near this kind of weight in yrs...

Seated Db side raise 180 deg,

Db side raises,

Underhand reverse fly's,
55x12x4 sets

Rope pressdowns wide,
100x12x4 sets
Straight bar pressdowns,
100x12x4 sets
Rope one handed ext over head,
70x12x4 sets

So over the holidays my bodyweight went from 250 to 260, well I been back to dieting right drinking my Maximus shakes and 4-6 real food meals a day and in 2 weeks im down 12 lbs (248 this am)

All that being said it was squat day,
Got my briefs on and right then and there I knew I was in for it, yep they got on in 4 seconds, Got my canvas out and slid right into it,,, Now this same breif and suit combo I couldnt get to parallel with 700, today I was breaking with 4 plates... UHHHHHG

Squats Full gear,
145x3,235x1,325x1,415x1,505x1,595x1,added wraps 685x1 oooof ugly !!! I put straps up to see if it would help uhhglier video clip

Raw pause squats,

Had about it at that point

Hopefully with some gear adjustments next week I will get some heavier work done, I guess it wasnt all for nothing since I had to work a little extra since the gear wasnt fitting,,

Skipped my volume bench day tis week but heres the rest of it all....

Deads, with suit on I pulled in the bands
worked up to 425 and pulled it 3 reps tried to do some reg pulls but i was shot, ME thinks I was still recovering from the saturday before raw squats.

Wed Lats
Yeah Im a wanna be BBer so not gonna bore yu with the details I did however start it off with some BB rows hit 315 for 10 woohooo...Man I used to be strong with these or maybe Its cause Im not hitting the same belly girth HMMMMMMMM.....

Thurs shirt Benches
Wanted to work my tight phenom down to touch and see what I had,
Well after I started working I found out my tight shirt wasnt soo tight...
warmed up and went 335x1 to a 3 board, then 445x1, then 535x1 to a 2 board, 625x1, then went to 715x1 to a 1 board. Ok that bar came down way too easy but I wanted to go heavier and touch 755xM mised it 4 inches off the chest shirt had no pop and I drifted to far over the belly. UHHG gotta get my shirt tightened up....

Saturday squats,
Had to squat at bevs francis gym since nobody was squatting today,
wore my hardcore briefs no wraps and skinny belt...
All sets were walked out 240x1,330x1,420x1,510x1,600x1
That was all I went to was real easy but had 1 spotter so I shut it down.

Raw box squats to a 13 inch box,
150x8,240x3,330x5x 3 sets

Stiff legged deads,
330x5x3 sets

That was all for today...

Shoulder was killin me from last thursday shirt work so I went light and did reps...
Close grip benches,
135x10,185x10,225x10,275x10,315x10 last set hurt ouch
Db incline presses,

Db side laterals,

Tricep pressdowns strict,
120x12x4 sets
rear delt fly,

Tuesday Deadlift day 1/6/08,

Monday night thru this afternoon I had a flu bug was up to 102 in temp for a while man was I achey all over,,, fever broke this afternoon so I went to the gym to see what I could do,
Conv Deads suit on,
225x3,315x1,405x1,500x1 man was it slow it was like my CNS was not even firing,, took it again 500x1 again it was slow, so I decided to keep working with 500 and get some volume cause I mean I was moving the weight just not explosively like usual so I did 500x1 another 8 times and as sets went on around rep number 6 I started to get a little more speed and by the time I got to the tenth single I was moving it much better then earlier on. NOt as good as usual but better... Stopped there gonna do lat work in the morning

wow had an awesome workout this morning...

2/25/08 bench assist

Floor presses,
135x10,225x5,(added a huge blast shirt for shoulder stability) 315x3 425x3 then 320x12 wow these were awesome they really make you use your shirt groove but at the same time you cant arch so you have to use extra delt to throw it back to lockout. I feel this is gonna be a great assistance move down the road...

Incline barbell press close grip,
135x10,185x10,225x10 wow I am weak

Db bench press,
50x15,75x15,90x12 wow barely made the last set i am pathetic..

Tricep ext,
45x15x4 sets
Tricep push dwn,
single pulley, 85x12x4 sets

Db side delt raises,
25x12x4 sets

It certainly is different training at 6:30 am wheeeew

my personal bests are

2303 total at 308
2250 total at 275
2250 total at 242

925 sqt at 242

765 bench at 275
725 bench at 242
(both done in a full meet not bench only)

685 dead at 275
683 dead at 242 (hit 705 in exhibition lift)

I have come down in weight from 305 to 248, back in june of 2006 I Had a heart attack and needed to take some time to clean up my diet and drop off the unnecesary weight then try and get strong again. God has blessed me and the road back hasn't been too difficult so I am going to try and take a run at the APF nationals this june God willing..

Experimented with Reverse purple bands
255x3,345x1,435x1,525x1,615x1,705x1,795x1 added wraps,, wow thought i was gonna pack it in here but watched the video and realized I had more so went to 885x1 ,,, Grinder but very fun. I am diggin these rev bands gonna do these everyother week.

Rack pulls from my weak spot,
225x5,315x8,405x5 stopped there was too disgusted to go on I am deffinately going to keep working these since I really wanna beat the crap outta myself with this weak ass ROM.. Felt like geting a razor and..........

Yeah I know some of you might think this is a weak exercise for me to be doing but on the contrary I am usually weak at this range of motion. I want to do a few weeks like this to try and get my glute transition strngth to get better as well as try to help hit some more deadlift weaknesses,

Then went out east to do a lifting show for a youth rally,,
