View Full Version : To Cut or Bulk First?

Hey guys, I just would like your opinion on what I should do first, here are some stats
Im 18 5' 4" 174 and ~16-17%
I was tested with calipers at 180 and had 18%
Ive been really excited to put back on some muscle since the end of wrestling season is almost near, but im wondering if having to diet even more in the long run will ruin some of the gains I will make, I think because im still young and pretty new, I can do a cut of 1-2 lbs a week and still put on some decent gains, Im not gonna start my Bulk or Cut until febuary so this gives me some time to plan everything out, either one I decide will hopefully be very clean meaning I will try to eat only healthy calories on a bulk and not go on a crash diet when cutting haha, that being said, what is your guys opinion, and if you need anymore information from me just ask. Also ima start a log soon to track everything, this site is the greatest!

Eat slightly over maintenance and lift heavy in the off season. Don't go crazy with the excess cals.

Start tracking cals now, so you can determine your maintenance cals.
