View Full Version : Eating carbs differently each day

Check this out. I started a cutting diet, and my carb intake was 225 grams throughout the day, around 37 or so a meal. Mr. Buttcheeks suggested I eat all my carbs post-workout and it would help me burn fat at a higher rate. I lift 3 days per week, so I was wondering if on my lifting days I take all my carbs post -workout, but on my non lifting days I eat carbs at every meal. I dont think it would be smart to consume 225 carbs late in the evening, especially on nights where Im at school and not even training. Does this make sense?

Don't eat ALL of your carbs post workout, but eat a good portion of them at that time. On non-training days I eat 20g carbs per meal for the first 5 of 7 meals, then taper off for the last 2 meals. Total of about 135g for the day. On training days I eat about 20g carbs for the first 4 meals, then my post workout shake has 100g of carbs(50 malt/dex mix and 50 complex). Then I taper off for the last couple meals, only getting a few carbs from nuts and veggies. I'm losing fat very nicely right now.

135 grams Gino? Does that make up about 25% of your total caloric intake? Just wondering...since you are around 200lbs right?

Makes up exactly 25% actually. Against the recommendations of most others, I've adopted a 50/25/25 split and experienced GREAT success. My lifts are progressing and fat is peeling away. On training days, the carbs are a little higher as I said, but on non-training days, it's 50/25/25.

Cool...I haven't been keeping track as I should...but generally on a training day I'll eat something carby 45mins to an hour before I work out.

You say you've had good results but was everything else kept constant, or did you change a buncha stuff?

Oh and fuk you for saying fat is peeling away you sub 10% b@stard! ;)

I increased protein quite a bit. From 225-250g to 300-325g. When I was bulking, I'd eat nearly 500g of carbs a day. It helped me gain 20 lbs in 16 weeks, so it was pretty successful - a year ago I was 8 lbs lighter at about the same bf % I am now. I think that this is the best I've ever looked(natural, lol), so I'm very pleased.
