I was doing chin ups/static holds last night, and after holding at the top of a chin up, I noticed my thumb, index finger, and the inside portion of my forearm were numb..similar to as if it fell asleep. This happened last night at about 8pm, and has been like that ever since..so, I total of 13hrs thus far. I dont have a GP to refer me to anything, so, what are my options? A friend suggested seeing a chiropractor..is that a reasonable idea?

Could be a number of different things, but median or radial nerve injuries come to mind. Other questions: any neck pain, arm/hand weakness, or radiating pain down the arm?

My recommendation would be evaluation by your primary care doctor.

I just got back from the health care center at school...the doctor who saw me suggested it may be a stretched, or otherwise damaged radial nerve. She also asked about my neck, and I informed her of a neck injury from back in november...so, I dont know if the two are related or not. I can tell you the numbness begins at the bottom of the bicep and intensifies all the way to the tips of my fingers. Her suggestion was to rest, and not strain at all for a while and monitor it...if it gets worse, I may be suited to get an MRI.
