The only supplement i really have is just whey...is there any point to taking whey during the day or even before going to bed? Ive been taking a whey rigth after my workouts and usually now before going to bed...Is it a waste to take it any other time besides working out? should I look into getting some casein instead before bed?

Whey anytime is fine. I would save it for around workouts. I like a blend for the rest of the day (Nitrean, EAS, etc.). If you need to boost your protein numbers than whey works fine.

I don't like to drink whey before bed because I don't like drinking anything before I go to bed. Solid food before bed is probably the best. But again it really doesn't matter.

what about casein protein?

Just drink milk or eat some cheese.

I have found the best time to take whey is right after a work out with a little simple sugar to, and right before bed.
