im not talking about pure body building routines, but a routine like the baby got back routine. what do you guys think?

nothing wrong with that, there is no.. sports specififc "strong"... just include it with whatever martial arts training you are doing at the moment.

i know some guys that fight, they say a periodized approach is best.

They like to split up into 4-8 week phases focusing more on stregnth, endurance, power or other qualities while keeping the rest in maitenence.
