Hey Guys, Im new to the forum but thought I'd start posting my log here. I'll post a few weeks back of bench workouts just so you can see where I'm comming from. I normally train at Westside Barbell, although for the last month or so I haven't been able to train there because of some schedule problems. I've developed a good group of guys at the university who can spot and hand off to me. I'm 23 about 5' 9" 250lbs with a best competition bench of 630lbs (Jan 2007) and a best gym raw bench of 500lbs.

Right now most of my stuff is raw. I grew out of my Karin's DD several months ago and have not had the money to buy a new shirt, but when I do it'll probably be a Rage X.

Here's ME Bench from Jan 2

ME Bench - pinkie on the ring bench full range raw

barx12
135x12
added monster mini's doubled - 110lbs at the top

135x1
225x1
315x1
365x1
405x1
425x1PR (535lbs at the top, very comfortable speed and felt great)

Pinkie on the ring 3 board

405x1
455x1
500x1
545x0 sat too far under the bar and couldn't see where I was grooving it
545x0 got it up off the board but as I was grinding it out, sort of stalled so I called it here. I wasn't too worried since I was doing a ascessory as an add on to my ME work. I think I was a little gassed from the full range bench.

JM Press

135x8
155x8
165x8
175x8

Dumbell Rollbacks

55sx8
65sx8
70sx8
75sx8

Done. I was tired but feeling great. Good workout. I'm comming to the end of this training cycle so maybe I'll go max out my regular bench straight weight in a few weeks. We'll see.....

Well this was a bit of a lower volume week. I wasn't able to lift at all after
Wednsday due to some work and travel. Yesterday I drove down to Decatur IL for a wedding of a friend which is about an 8hr drive. After the wedding I had to jump back in my truck and had back, only to run into extremly dense fog, which made the trip take 10hrs and put me back in TC around 4am (18hrs behind the wheel in one day)today. 2hrs of sleep and then I had to run my girlfriend to the airport so she could go home, then back home and 2 more hours of sleep. Needless to say I wasn't feeling quite as high octane as I normally do, but still good

DE Bench

barx12
135x12

added monster mini bands (110lbs at the top)

135x3 with index on the smooth
165x3
185x3 - this is where things got pretty fast. I was very pleased

thumb from the smooth

205x3
205x3
205x3 - still goin pretty fast

pinkie on the ring

225x3
225x3
225x3

Two sets of 15 reps with the 115lb dumbbells

Barbell skull crushers - worked up to 135lbs for 8 - little light for me as I was begining to run out of gas

Westsides

50sx10
50sx10
55x10
55sx10 - Kept these sets moving pretty quickly because I was really getting tired now.

Overall I wasn't dissapointed given the lack of sleep and tons of driving I had done. My speed sets were actually faster than normal so that was good, but by the time I got to my tricep work, I was weak as piss. Lucky me, I have to pack my crap and drive back down to Ohio tomorrow morning. Just the way it goes sometimes I guess. If I keep this kinda driving up i'm going to have to get a little 12-volt cooler for my truck so
I can keep shakes in my truck[/i]

ME Bench

Reverse Green Band Bench - Pinkie on the ring

Started right out with the reverse bands
185x12
225x6
315x3
405x1

135x8
135x8
165x8
185x8

Westsides

55x8
65x8
75x8
80x8

I was pretty happy with the 35lb PR since the last time I did these were 4 weeks ago, but to be honest I felt like I had 605 in me today but after the 585, I knew that was as much as I had in me today. Oh well, next time.

ME Bench

barx12
135x12
225x8
315x1
405x1
455x1
500x1 - still fairly easy
515x0?? I got it up all the way to the top of my 3 board range and then completly stopped. I have known for awhile that I need to be working on my 3 board, I just haven't as much as I should and I paid for it today. I'd have rather had it stapled to me than get it that close to lockout and stall. Oh well, the 500 was nice and easy at least.

Pin Presses - index on the smooth

315x8
335x8
365x8
385x8

Rollbacks
50sx8
60sx8
65sx8
65sx8

Done. I'm fried. I begin a new training cycle next week so I won't be hitting straight weight for about 3 weeks. Today wasn't exactly the best day for benching, but definatly a good way to motivate myself for a new cycle.

DE Bench

barx12
135x12

add mini bands (90 at the top)

185x3
185x3

205x3
205x3
225x3 - pinkie on the ring
225x3
225x3

315 x 15
315x 14 - kept these with pinkie on the ring and made sure they were all locked out instead of just busting for the reps

Skull Crushers from the pins

135x8
185x8
225x8
*Flipped the switch
255x8
275x8
275x8

Done. Good workout. Really cranked up the tricep work for the top half of the press. I won't miss 515 again and I know what I have to do to make sure. The speed today was really good, especially the 225 sets. Think next week I'll move to the monster mini's and see where my speed is at. Still trying to get my hands on a video camera so I can put some stuff up for you guys.

ME Bench

Floor Press Straight weight

barx12
135x12
225x8
315x3
365x1
405x1
455x1 PR
485x1 PR - switched from thumb length from the smooth to pinkie on the ring
500x1 PR - Big PRs today but mostly because I haven't used these for singles on ME in awhile

3-board with monster mini's (110lbs at the top)

225x3 - pinkie on the ring
315x3
365x3
405x1
455x1 (565 at the top) - PR

Westsides

55sx8
70sx8
80sx8
90sx8

Done. Great workout. The 500 on the floor press went up very fast but I still stopped there since it was a great PR. The 3 board press also felt awesome and since it was a good PR. All I could think about throughout the workout was missing that 515. Every bench workout it comes back to motivate me. Been awhile since I've driven myself this hard.

Only 3 more days until I bench again.....

DE Bench

185x3
185x3

225x3
225x3

4 Board Pinkie on the ring

365x8
405x8
455x8
500x4 - had a weird groove and I just felt gassed so I called it at 4 reps

Rollbacks

55sx8
65sx8
65sx8
65sx8

Done. Great bench day. My tris are just exhausted. Speed was good, I'll do mm bands for a couple weeks and then switch back to the mini bands. Biggest thing was again working on my top end strength with the 4 board today. All the reps were really strong, although I was a little relectuant to do high boards on speed day, going heavy twice a week but it wasn't for a single so it was alright. Might do it every other speed day.

ME Bench - doubled monster minis with pinkie on the ring grip

barx12
135x12

added monster minis (+110 at the top)

135x6
225x3
315x1
365x1
405x1-this one was super fast. I got up and checked the weight again to make sure it was 405
430x0
Flipped the switch
430x1 - came back and rocked it 5lb PR.

3-board ascessory

315x8 index on the smooth
365x8
405x8 - thumb length from the smooth

JM Presses

135x8
155x8
165x8
165x8

Rope Press downs

140x12
160x12
170x12

Done! Another absolutly great bench workout. I was particularly pleased with the 5lb PR since I did this same exercise only a few weeks ago (Jan 2) The 3boards took it out of me though. I was pooped by the time I got done with those but once again I thought of that 515 so I did some JM presses for good measure.

205x3
205x3
205x3 - pinkie on the ring
205x3
205x3

275x8x2 with a 2 second pause on chest. I went comp grip so I could really stretch out my outer pecs today. Not quite as tight, but just a tad and it felt good so what the heck

Barbell Skull Crushers off the pins - bout 1/2" from my face

135x8
165x8
185x8
185x8

Rollbacks

60x8
70x8
70x8
70c8

Pressdowns

140x12
180x12
200x12
200x12

Done. Not a bad workout, I just dialed it back a small notch today so I could work on stretching out my pecs. They just felt tight sore, not pulled or strained, just like they needed to be stretched

nah, I'll post all my other stuff. I've had this log up on another site for awhile and just didn't feel like cuting and pasting it all so I figured I'd give you guys just a base foundation

My training normally goes Monday - heavy back and shoulders Tuesday - light biceps and forearms Wednsday - ME bench Thursday - Squat Friday - light back and rear delts and Saturday DE bench. I'll post it all for ya here. Thanks for the compliments guys, I really have to attribute my strength to guys like Lou who have helped me out alot.

haha no such luck Ben. I'm everywhere!

ME Bench

Doubled purple bands (+200lbs at the top) with the Arch Bar (bout 1 1/2" camber)

barx12
135x8

added bands

135x5
225x2
275x1
315x1
355x1PR
375x1PR - still pretty darn fast but I stopped here. Last week was a real grinder so I figured to take a little easier this week.

Unfortunatly this was the end of my workout. A situation arose that had to be tended to immediatly but no big, I'll be back at it in a few days. Either way, I still hit a PR. If I'd have missed the entire workout, I'd have been really pissed but its alright, least I got all my benching in.

Done. Good workout. The 675 felt light on my back, but boy when that box stopped me I knew it was going to be a grinder. I felt really strong today, probably because yesterday was so short. Legs are tired though and now I've gotta go work on my pickup truck. Great

I live in Cedarville (just outside Xenia) so its about a 45min drive each way to WS every Wednsday.

Its a little intimidating going to WS the first time, but everyone is really cool and easy to work with. What I soon realized was that even though I was the weak link there, every single one of them had been in my spot when they first came. My benching really took off after going to WS. You should really come out some time

Travis Bell
02-12-2008, 02:28 PM
Yep. We welcome everyone. We've had football players, rugby players/trainers, even some fighters. Thats actually the glory of WS in my opinion, we train raw and geared all the time, although squatting is rarely without briefs at least but for bench we'll get in shirts every two to three weeks, the rest is raw. For me right now its all raw. I think you'd really enjoy comming out to Westside to train

Travis Bell

Biceps and forearms

Warm up with dumbbell curls

45x12x3

Cable curls (single arm)

60x15
70x15
80x15
90x15

Close Grip Preachers

bar+50x15
bar+60x15x3

Two sets of "21" with ez cuurl bar + 50lbs

Rope Hammer Curls

100x15
120x15
130x15
140x15

Isolation Curls

55x12 each arm for 4 sets

Done. I went alot higher reps today than I normally do because its harder to overtrain my arms when I keep the reps high. When the reps get low, I tend to jack the weight up more than I really need to. After all, I'm only doing arms to keep my bi's in proportion to my tri's.

Ah! Tomorrow I bench!!! Also I know you're not supposed to feel the effects of Results until a couple weeks, but I definatly felt more energized today than I have in awhile (today was the first day on it) Flavor is good and it goes down very easily. I'm really looking forward to taking this supplement

Dumbbell Benching off a Fit Ball

90x15x2
100x15x2 - these really work on maintaing balance.

Straight Bar Skull Crushers

135x8x3

Done. I'm a little pissed, but in a good way, I'll get it. I'll deload next week with reverse bands close grip and take a lighter weight. Week 1 will be heavy doubles with straight weight. I feel that I need to get a little more volume in so I think doubles will be the key (pinkie on the ring) Week 2 will be floor press for a heavy single (thumb length from the smooth) and Week 3 will be max straight weight again with comp grip. I'm going to add two boards for ascessory work on DE days and keep 3 and 4 boards on ME day.

I'm going to go the whole training cycle without bands (aside from speed day) and see where it goes.

225x8
275x5
315x5
365x5
385x5

Done. I liked the Zerchers off the pins, it allowed me to get my air between reps easier. When I do them off the box, they just push all my air out. My forearms don't appreciate me very much though. Soon as I walked in I just got to thinking about that stupid 515lb miss yesterday.

Travis Bell

Here it is boys - http://youtube.com/watch?v=YLU4k6VudEo

Sorry it took so long, took my girl out to dinner and a movie.

Ben, I let the boards sink a little bit because when I try and catch them on the boards, it really stresses out my shoulders. The video starts with my index on the smooth (185 +bands) goes to thumb length from the smooth (205+bands) and ends with pinkie on the ring (225+bands). I figured a video of all speed sets would be sorta repetitive.

I haven't competed raw since my first powerlifting meet. I kinda go back and fourth on the topic, but more than likely once I get my new bench shirt in I'm just going to go back to my good ol' double ply.

When my triceps keep getting stronger and stronger, I feel its a good idea to at least move your biceps once a week to maintain good balance on the arms. Forearms are priceless when you take a big bench out of the racks. Makes the weight feel lighter and you more stable

GEEZE! You weren't kidding. I was comming from the west side of MI so I came down through Indiana. Came over on 30 to 75. it was still not too bad until I got to 70 and then it was bad. Being from michigan it takes alot for me to say its bad but it was. Course I drive a full size Ford pickup truck so I just kept the hammer down and plowed the way for everyone else. Also helps that I have a 120lb bullmastiff in the back of my truck haha

LOL! I drive a front wheel drive, with snow tires. My engine was whining in defeat on a no-more-than 5 degree hill. Finally got it moving, but I have a feeling that intersection got pretty crowded a few minutes after I got out of there, lmao!

Fing gym was closed today and the roads were too bad for me to make to to WS for DE bench. Bunch of horsecrap!!! it'd better be open monday or I'll break down the gym door myself

One of my gyms was closed today too, and the other one was too far of a drive. It better be open tomorrow!

Travis Bell
03-09-2008, 10:35 AM
So I got up today to go in to Westside (the one gym I know is NEVER closed) only to find that we'd been crapped on again and the snow plow had been by just enough times to leave a nice 5ft bank on my driveway. I sat there for a minute deciding how long it'd take me to shovel it out or wondering if I could ram my truck through it and decided I couldn't shovel it out in time nor did I wish to screw up my drive shaft and rear diff by getting high ended on the bank. *Sigh* I'm on my second day without lifting. I'm like a bull in a cage. Quite restless and very irritable. Just means I'll have a killer ME day this week

On a side note, I put 1/2 teaspoon of salt in my waxy maize to be drank during the workout as recommended by a friend (worst taste ever mind you) and I walked out of there weighing 255lbs!! haha. Surely did help draw the water in. I might dial back my WM intake a little so I'm not quite so water heavy. Although it doesn't hurt, I don't want to get much heavier than I am now. 500x1 4brd - I've never worn this shirt before so I didn't want to start with too crazy of a weight, this one flew up so fast I didn't even realize it
585x1 4brd - still crazy fast. Unbelievable
585x2 3brd - took it down to a 3brd and it was still crazy fast
675x2 3brd - By now I was a little wary of the speed of the shirt so I went just a tad slower but not much

I stopped there because I shouldn't have even been in the shirt to begin with. I just couldn't wait to try it out and I must say this is one of the best shirts I've ever worn. Pretty easy to touch and maintain my form, groove is really nice and the follow through is so impressive! I love this shirt. I had plenty in the tank to go at least 765 but I'll save that for Wednsday. I'd like to take it down to a two board on Wednsday so we'll see. Video to come later

Some VERY strong stuff in here! What's up with the volume for a 'bicep day', though??

Travis Bell
03-22-2008, 02:15 PM
Im not sure what you mean?

the volume I do is to keep my biceps in somewhat proportion to my triceps to prevent an injury as a result of disproportion. Plus my girlfriend likes my arms and it helps fill out my bench shirt

To be honest I hate doing biceps, but the forearms play a huge role in benching in a shirt. The more control you have over the weight in bar placement the better the press is going to be

Always impressive work in here.

Is the (+290) you have under the Speed Singles the amount of weight resulting from the band tension? Also, I can see the doubled monster mini's, but is there another set of bands on there as well? It kind of looks as though there may be. Then again, when I think about it, there would have to be if the 290 number is band tension weight. Just curious, man. And those were, really, really fast. Wow. Good stuff, Travis!

Travis Bell
03-29-2008, 10:37 PM
Those are actually doubled purple bands (+200) along with doubled mini bands (+90) and then the 135lbs of bar weight so total at the top is 425lbs. Keep in mind though it doesn't translate over to a straight weight bench press. My best bench with doubled purple bands came out to like 585lbs at the top haha and I obviously can't bench that straight weight. Thanks for the compliments man!

jbrin0tk
03-29-2008, 11:10 PM
You're very welcome, man! I thought I saw some red bands in there (monster mini's) but I guess I was wrong. I also kinda thought I saw some purple ones, too, but I wasn't sure. But yeah, I did some benching with monster mini's a couple weeks ago and worked up to where there was 300lbs. at the top and I repped about 4 times....and I obviously can't do that either lol! It was weird because I was thinking, "this doesn't feel as hard or as heavy as it should." It was at that point that I realized that it doesn't translate into straight weight, haha!! Thanks for the clarification, Travis.

Done. That was alot of squatting! My legs are done in. I've slacked off in my squatting the past couple of weeks so I needed to pick up the pace a little. A good workout for sure

On a side note my training partners at school lately have been space cadets. Its really beginning to piss me off. I know its the end of the year, I know we've got exams, BUT WHEN YOU ARE IN MY WEIGHT ROOM YOU ARE THERE TO TRAIN!!!! LEAVE THAT BULLCRAP WHERE IT BELONGS! I'd rather they weren't there if they are not going to be focused and train both smart and hard. I don't ask that they do everything perfect or even everything like I suggest it, I just ask that they come to train hard, focused and smart

What I realized is I breath this stuff. I have powerlifting comming out my pores. But these guys dont. Least not all the time. Which is a bummer because two of them have endless potential. Oh well, when they look back and wonder why their bench isn't where it should be, I'll be benching 800+lbs!! End Rant

That's a good way to look at it, Travis. Nice squatting!

Nice squatting man. I wish I had some good training partners that were HALF as dedicated as yours.

Thanks guys. I actually told all of them this morning, either pull their heads out of their butts or get out. They drag down the entire momentum of the workout. haha they were ready before I was to head off to the gym today...Still agrivating that I have to be the motivation for the whole group but whatever.

Done! Well the training partners were a dud once again. Basically what I did was just put in my earphones and ignore them. I slowly turned up the intensity bit by bit til they were way behind me and couldn't keep up. I'm just tired of mediocrity and won't let it slow me down. I was done in about 40min today. So I sat and enjoyed my waxy maize and creatine while they finished haha suckers! Kudos to my little brother though. That 165lber does keep up with me. Maybe its our Bell genetics!

What I did with these last two exercises was superset them non stop. I just kept going back and fourth for 4 sets without a break. Its what Lou and I discussed to help build up my endurance more. I was feeling gassed by the time I got done with the two sets at 225 so by the time I dragged myself through that brutal super duper tricep beater set, I was exhausted. It was fun steering my truck home for sure. Great workout

Bunch of tricep stuff with super light weight to get the blood to my tri's. By tomorrow they'll be all good to go.

All in all a good workout. I was pleased that my triceps felt better by the end of the workout because they were really hurtin this morning. That Louie Simmons really knows how to put the hurt on a guy! This was another 40min special. I'm really pushing myself on the whole endurance thing.

Travis, what's a Super Pullover? Thanks!

Travis Bell
04-07-2008, 08:35 PM
Its a back movement where you put the lat bar on a cable cross set up. Grab the bar, stand back a ways and lean towards the floor. With the bar above your head, use your lats by keeping your arms straight locked and bring the bar down to your waist or whatever. I tried to find a video but couldn't find one. I'll put one up this Friday

mickyjune26
04-08-2008, 10:22 AM
Noticed your back days are seperate from your bench days. Does this result in working out 5 - 6 days / week, instead of the reg 4 -day westside?

You like to do 10 rep sets with back. Is there anything wrong with 6 rep sets?

ME Bench

today Greg wanted to do doubled purple bands

225x1
275x1

405x1 -PR 605 at the top, this one was a bit of a grinder. This one surprised me because its a 20lb pr so it would seem my raw is still going up quite a bit. Today was a 3 person tie between myself, Greg Panora and Tony Bologne. Tony tried 425 but missed it bout halfway. It was a really fun workout smack talking each other the whole time

Sled Extensions
25 reps for 4 sets

Rope pressdowns

80x15x4 - these were done in some funny way that Greg was showing me, they really worked big time.

Done. I was really pleased with the workout. I think next week Tony and I decided we were going to do the foam presses to work on my top end raw. Man its good to be at Westside...

Travis Bell

Ok so yeah, I'm glad you posted that video because the Super Pullover was not at all what I thought it was!!! Thanks, man!

And for the H-rolls: I was about to do these the other day at my gym, but the bench kept feeling like it was going to tip over. Not good, lol! I suppose I could put a 45lb. plate or an even heavier dumbbell at or over the base of the bench, eh? Thanks again, Travis!

Travis Bell
04-11-2008, 07:29 PM
that's not westside gym, right?

Nope, I only get to Westside on Wednsdays. I live about an hour away so it gets expensive going more than once a week with gas the way it is.

What does your lifting split look like, since you do back and shoulder on a seperate day?

Strong back day. I'm gonna shoot to get my back that strong! :)

Actually I do back and shoulders on the same day, twice a week.

Monday - back and shoulders
Tuesday - light biceps and forearms
Wednsday - ME Bench at WESTSIDE!!!
Thursday - Squat day
Friday - back and shoulders again
Saturday - DE Bench
Sunday - off

I tend to rotate my two back and shoulder days between having one be lighter and the other heavy. Going heavy twice a week I felt like I was getting stagnate. The pullovers are a great exercise. I think hammer strength makes a machine for it, this is just my ghetto version of it. Sometimes you have to work with what you've got I s'pose

225x25

are foam presses like bench press with a piece of foam in place of boards?

Travis Bell
04-14-2008, 01:46 PM
its with foam on either side of the bench, the weights sink down into the foam, simulating the feeling of a bench shirt, but different in that your form isn't dictated by the shirt.

Will, for you and Ben, I might suggest saving your money up for a monolift if you have room for one. Ben's squat is going to go past that little squat rack very soon. Just my 2 cents though.

Hopefully I'll get some video up of it for you guys

Yesterday did a bunch of bicep crap

ME Bench at Westside

Today Greg changed his mind and wanted to do shirt work so I just went with the flow. We put 350lbs of band tension on the bar and then took comp grip

bar (+350)x1
135(+350)x1
added Phenom
225(+350)x1 - 2brd
315(+350)x1 1brd
405(+350)x1 chest - fast as all get out
495(+350)x0 - threw it over my face and decided not to attempt a 850lb skull crusher haha
495(+350)x0 - much better this time. I definatly missed it where the bands really kicked in. About 2in from lockout.

Football Bar Skull Crushers with kettlebells hung from purple bands

16kg kb's for 10 reps and 4 sets

Overhead Band extensions *superset with above*

4 sets of 12

Greg got me this week, he ground out the 495. I still was happy with how far I got it up, although I probably should have gone for 455 first. I was also happy that when I took it up, it didn't go up and then back down, I was able to hold it there. My endurance is definatly comming up. What I'm trying to do is get used to making bigger jumps. When I'm in a meet, I usually psych myself into thinking I need to open heavier so I'm not too far away from my second attempt. If I get used to bigger jumps I can open with like 675 and go 750 or something like that on my second. I really liked using the bands in the shirt. You still hit the heavy weights but I didn't feel as beat up as I normally do after a straight weight session. Really fun workout.

Sorry for no review on foam, that'll have to wait til next week. Video of my last set as well will come later, even though I didn't get it you still can see how it looked. I was pretty happy wit the technique actually

On a side note, I talked to Lou about my next meet and it looks like for his Pro Am meet he's going to have bench only allowed on the Am day so I'm probably going to do his meet. Its local and I can lift with my boys instead of traveling way out of my way. I'd like to do Carps meet sometime but now really just is inconvient for me.

Overall a spectacular day. I was very pleased

What band combination gives you 350lbs? That's some crazy band tension. Looks like something that would definitely help my lockout!

Travis Bell
04-16-2008, 04:21 PM
two sets of bands doubled up on each side. Lou guessed it to be over 400 but I'm calling it 350 to be on the safe side. I'm not sure what the one set was, but the second set was monster mini's. The way we set them up, Lou has a small 4x4 taped to the bottom of our rack so the bands are about 1/2" from the floor. The thing with bands is its really hard to calculate, but we'll call it 350 just the same. In all reality it doesn't matter how much the tension came out to just so long as I write down the PR and go higher on it next time we do the same set up.

yeah it'd definatly help out the lockout, even if you did it off boards. I really liked it and will keep it in my workout routine for the future

Thanks fellas! I really enjoyed it. The idea for it came from Bencher8 who is a really top notch bencher

Today I took a week off from squatting to give my shoulders a rest. I don't have access to a buffalo bar or cambered bar so it was the leg press for me

DB Bench

70sx12x4 - just get the blood back to my pecs. I'm a little sore from yesterday. Not too bad though.

Nice high paced workout. I didn't mind doing leg press today, my shoulders just get tired of being stretched all the way back to the bar all the time when squatting.

Good idea on the break from squats. You gottan do that once in a while. Good lower body work nonetheless. Tried out your superpullovers and really liked them.

Thanks Jay!

Yeah Micky, if I had a cambered bar or a buffalo bar I would still squat but since I don't gotta go with the leg press just to move the legs. Front squats still put too much pressure on the delts for me. They feel excellent today!

columbus gets a bunch of the good meets! Are you still experiencing muscle growth on your back with these higher reps?

Travis Bell

yeah my back is pretty wide and thick. maybe I'll post some pics.

The first set with really high reps is more just to get the blood movin. I seem to be able to go heavier on the later sets if I do one set with high reps. not sure why but when I just do sets of 8 all the way through, feels heavy sooner regardless of the weight

oh and yes columbus gets great meets!

I'll have some video sometime tomorrow of George Halbert who by the way is opening up with 766lbs. Say goodbye to the all time 198 record folks

I'll also get some video of Wolf on Sunday

Panora Rope Pressdowns

70lbsx12x4

Sled Extensions

4plates 30reps 2 sets

Pec Dec

Done. Had the gym all to myself today so it was a little change but still awesome to have all that equipment at my disposal. I may just start going there every sunday afternoon to do my DE stuff. Man are my tri's tired.

What an awesome meet though! Big Rob benched 881 on his second after getting squished on his first attempt and then came back and smashed 914 on his third and manhandled 960 I think it was but the shirt blew out. Big mike didn't have the day he'd wanted but he tried harder than anyone else for sure. He's just getting motivated though

Hey Travis, so when you say that his "shirt blew out," does that mean that it literally came apart because of all of the stress from the weight and the forces being applied? That's crazy!

Travis Bell
04-20-2008, 06:34 PM
yeah the shirt came apart, but they often come apart for many reasons. I've blown one out before doing 520 (quite some time ago of course haha) but sometimes they just let go. It happens every once in awhile
