a) Awesome work!

b) A bit of advice. I have discussed this with Mike Wolfe and Joey Smith. I think a lot of shirted lifters make the mistake of not doing full ROM shirted work the last 3 weeks or so prior to a meet. You have to understand that the only way to demonstrate maximal strength in any ROM is to practice that particular ROM. It goes back to the SAID principle. Doing only board work, even just a 1 board, before a meet is a mistake and something that will limit your best competition lift.

A) Thanks You

B) I know what your sayin Chris! During this workout I hade already done 565 n 605 off My Chest. This meet was 5 weeks after the AFP New England Championships, So I had hit 565 over 10-12 Time and 605 a Few Times. I also work my way down from 3-1BRD's Over 4-6 Weeks. I do these at the end of my Shirt work, that way I know I can Handle more weight and It makes for a great 3rd attempt! So I agree with Mike, Joey and you as well! Got to get those ROM if you want it in the Meet!

Well I'm not 170lbs, I cut weight down to the 181lbs Class. My Shoulders are 53", Arms 18" and I'm only 5'2" Tall... So Most people say "whos that short and jacked guy" lol

Your benching is insane!!! Question though I looked at your journal and was wondering do you ever do any shoulder or back work? I saw that you got hit by that truck, that sucks big time.

I'm guessing you mean Arching? If so yes!

Actually bridging is different then arching. Bridging is the is heaving of the hops clear of contact with the bench, which takes work away from the target muscles by making the movement mechanically easier.

I'm pretty sure in competitions arching one's back is fine, which is what I do also but I just got out of the habit of bridging and can't really tell if that is what you were doing.

Great lifts regardless.
