This weeks Bench Press workout went really well and I hit a
540 lb Reverse Band Bench Press PR!
bodyweight was 214 lbs.
.....this was a BIG step towards 550 and ultimately towards 600!
I probably wont take another max until late March or early April unless I just feel awesome!
I hope you enjoy the video and have a great day!
Praise Adonai!
The video is 425, 445, then Reverse Bands of 515 and 540!

Eye of the Tiger playing the background... good stuff! Damned nice lift. You moved that bar with some authority. No hesitation, no slowing down, just a big, damned, heavy press!

first year weightlifting, how come it seems like its easier for you to lift in the 500's with the band and its harder for you to lift 400's without the band? what does the band do?

when you hang bands from the top, it makes it lighter at the bottom. Helps both deload and helps you work on developing your speed. When you hook them from the bottom, they make it much harder all the way through

what happens if you fail a lift?
Heathj
Here is an example of when I fail on a lift!
I missed the 3rd rep with 415 twice in the video.
The weight just lands on the pins in the power rack and I crawl out.
I hope this helps have a great day!

He's got the pins set at the right height.
bjohnso is correct.
The pins are set to catch the weight when I fail and sometimes it happens WAY TOO MUCH!:evillaugh:
