You need about a gram per pound of bodyweight.

Jesus.

It does seem like a lot at first but its not that bad getting it in. 75 per meal for 5 meals, then 125 PWO and Im there. Gettin 2g per Lb of BW was the best thing I ever started doing for myself nutritionally.

No idea right now. When I was bulking, easily 300+. If I had to guess, probably about 200 right now. I weigh 215lbs.

So is a good chunk of that from powders?

Yesterday I got in a good 289 grams of protein, only because I was adding a scoop and a half of nitrean with every meal. But I dont average 289.

I am averaging around 225grams a day.

I am currently working on losing weight, I was 405lbs and am now down to 360. You should be getting a gram of protein per lb of lean body mass.

Keith is right, given the advice given on this forum, but I always found this kind of funny. The difference between these two numbers is usually about 15% - not exactly large. If we used the XYZ system to weigh things, where one XYZ was 1.15 pounds, we'd still be saying we should get 1g of protein per XYZ of LBM.

My point is, nobody can claim that their method is perfect.

15%? That number can vary A LOT depending on the individual and their BF%. I didn't really want to argue a competitors point, but just wanted to clarify this fact for other people. You're supporting and repairing muscle tissue, not fat. So, if you're 250 lbs on the scale but only carrying 150 lbs of muscle, don't stress about consuming 250g of protein, shoot for at least 150g.
