View Full Version : Good sources of fat
Looking for some good ways to up my fat intake, so far I plan on replacing tuna with salmon/adding olive oil to my tuna. What are some high fat/low carb foods that I can eat?
Thanks in advance.

Nuts/peanutbutter.
Peanut butter is good, but I prefer actual peanuts. They are easier to carry on the run and dont leave as much of a mess. They are easy to eat and everything.
Olive oil in shakes is also good but I would rather get my fat from nuts.
MMM-Love the avocados. Mix in some fresh salsa and spread it on my tacos!!!
Flax seeds are good to mix in your oatmeal.
Some good picks in this thread, went through the grocery store and loaded up on some of the above. Picked up some caesar salad dressing too. Not sure if it is as good as above mentioned but the label tells me:
10g fat
0.5g saturated
3g polyunsaturated
- 2g omega-6
- 0.9g omega-3
6g monounsaturated
0carbs
0.3protein
sounds like a decent source of fat? Ingredients say it is pretty much canola oil, egg yolk and garlic.

Not bad at all!
Just kinda hard to have a lot, they tend to have a lot of sodium.

Nuts, meats, plant fats (coconut), whole milk, olive oil, eggs... I'd say almost anything that was alive (and fatty).

I might be wrong, but I believe fatty fishes such as salmon have good fatty acids, which is why you can take fish oil pills.
So I definitely am overdoing it on the caesar salad dressing. Getting enough fat in your diet is tough!
