Is whey best to take just after workouts? is it good to take rigth before workouts with some milk?

You can use whey before and after your work out. I would stick with whey isolate pre/post. You could add creatine + carbs (dextrose,maltodextrin). If you dont mind the taste go with Hydolyzed whey. I use it pre/post with creatine+dextrose,but it tastes like s--t. You cant beat it for fast absorbsion. Just what you need post workout.

I see, but is whey beneficial throughout the day? Is it best to just save whey protein for pre/post workouts and then just get protein when not working out from foods and shakes?

whey protein is just food, you can have it whenever you want, if youre following a diet just make sure it fits in, i take mine in the morning, after a workout and before bed.
