I've recently been eating 5 whole eggs as my protein source for one meal about 4-6 times per week. If I do this on a regular basis is there any harm I could be doing. I realize that there have been a lot of studies about the cholesterol in eggs that contradict each other, but I want to know what some of you diest "experts" think. It is the first whole food meal I have after my post workout shake and on non training days it is sometimes a lunch for me. I eat it with either oats or whole wheat toast. Any idea? I'm 22, definitely not overweight and I never have ahad a problem with cholesterol/blood pressure.

I think I've seen some others say that it would only become a problem if you already had some sort of health problem, which you don't.

I am doing the same. Haven't noticed any poor effects, yet

As for whole eggs 5 is the max I'd drink. The rest is egg whites.
As far as I know, egg whites are pure protein, but don't contain vitamins.

Ok, now how about adding 1 lb of lean red meat into the mix?

So that would be 5 whole eggs and 1 lb of 85-90% lean red meat? Am I asking for clogged arteries or should I be ok?

Meat good. Eggs good.

I dont see anything wrong with this meal.

If that was one meal I might have some digestive issues.

The five whole eggs would be one meal. The lb of beef would be split up into a few meals throughout the day.

I think many other items come into play when we are talking about health. I mean does your family have a history of heart problems?

By looking at your lifestyle I wouldnt think you would have a problem. If you are just looking to get the protein, then just buy some carton eggs whites. Not the egg beaters, but they sell 100% egg whites in 16oz cartons. Think they are called "All Whites". Ingredients = egg whites, thats all.

Oh ya I think Sinep had a pic posted once of all the cartons he comsumed during his first cut.

latty be sure and add some fibre in there to avoid some serious constipation

beans and oats (ie soluble fibre) actually inhibit the absorbtion of cholesterol to a degree
