Yesterday was my first heavy day back in the gym since being sick. I tried something new with the deadlifts. I used 25's as the biggest plates to extend the ROM and then I put chains over the bar to make it harder. They kicked my ass.
These three sets the bar weight is 379 lbs(we have a pair of 22 lb plates).

379 + 4 Chains x 3
379 + 6 Chains x 3
379 + 8 Chains x 1

Looks good ...

I've seen quite a few of your videos and you are a strong mofo. I can't image how strong you would be at 220 lbs.

sorry to hijack this abit but i do it the way you do it were you basically drop down after a rep and the personal trainer in the gym seems to think that way would injure my back?

That's probably what I should weigh at my height to really lift to my potential. Chris Taylor(one of my training partners) is down to around 250 and I am taller than him! One day I'll gain some weight. I'd like to be lifting in the 181 class by next year or so.

Bringing the deadlift down slowly is more taxing on your back than letting it down faster. I'm not sure exactly what he was trying to tell you, but most personal trainers don't know anything about powerlifters or how we train.

he just said make sure you suck your belly button in whilst going down. he said the force of it pulling you down will in the future ruin your back but i say there is no "force" pulling me down i simply drop down
