View Full Version : Need to lose an assload of fat and get stronger at the same time

Heres the thing I only care about strength. While being fat I've gained alot of strength but while still being a fat pig lol.
I need to lose fat fast, but need to gain strength at the same time.
Keep in mind I don't give a rats ass about muscles, only strength, so it will help my fighting ability.
What should I do?
I have above average genetics.

Well if you get stronger, you will most likely be gaining a fair amount of muscle, so you're just gonna have to deal with it. You will also lose fat because of the extra muscle that you gain.

Anyway, give Rippetoe's novice routine a try:

Workout A:
squat - 3x5
bench - 3x5
deadlift - 1x5

workout B:
squat - 3x5
oh press - 3x5
power clean - 5x3

Lift 3 days a week, alternating between workout's A and B. Increase the weight of the lifts every workout. Don't forget to do warmup sets as well.

Add in some additional ab work at the end of each workout too, and maybe some pull-ups/chin-ups if you'd like.

That, plus a healthy diet should help you achieve what you are looking for.
