View Full Version : How people think

I was thinking (no kiddin) today about how society critize steroid users. Most of us wwb natty respect gear users as our brothers, what about the rest? You talk to somebody in the gym who've been training for a few years and chances are he'll tell ya steroid is for cheaters (did that myself). Only today I've figured where it all come from. No matter where you go today, your ass is a factor.. and people are judged by their appearance. When somebody turns his head at someone else better looking, the automatic thought that goes through the mind is 'what is he doing that I am not?'. The reply usually is, the person is a cheater, since believing otherwise would be belittling his own accomplishment, thus affecting his self esteem. I firmly believe that those who haven't learned to respect gear users see life as a competition, and that's why they'll always be unhappy about who they are since they'll never be the best. On the other hand, us, we accept the fact to be under and we grant others that they deserve to be what they are.

** I hope I didn't get any of ya bored.. just some thoughts I had, felt like writing them

Nice post.
I agree Sinep:)
Gear or no gear we all lift and to a certain extent we all bust our butts day in day out to seek our own brand of personal perfection.

I think that gear has gotten a bad name from exploiting it's faults so much to the public. Hell, if you ever walk inot a library and look up AS all you will find is negative studies!

I think IBLFitin hit the nail on the head...

People are uninformed about the use of steroids...

They only see one side.. The deaths reported on TV, and cases where people abuse them and as a result pay the consequences..

I was arguing with this guy I know once..

He was your typical avergae 22 year old....

He smoked, drank, ate crap and used recreational drugs at the weekend, yet still bashed the use of steroids.. All he could say is "you are always hearing abuot the deaths etc.."

I believe the bodybuilder who eats clean, drinnks moderately or not at all and doesn't smoke, but uses steroids is far far healthier...

Sinep, you know you are going to the dark side soon :D

lol. It's amazing how stupid people can be. One of my buddies has a friend here... total moron. He's a nice guy... but the light in the attic burned out a looong time ago. Anyway, He's been lifting for a while... didn't get anywhere on his own really. He just got himself a personal trainer and is finally making progress. About a month ago he asked me a few questions about sust and deca and a few other things and I talked to him for a while. I gave him the straight ****... told him the pros n cons and whatnot. I said that unless you've been at it for a few years at least that you should hold off for a while.

He and I were talking last night. He actually started an 8 week sust/deca cycle after we talked before, and it's starting to kick in. He's been feeling pretty good.

"I see all these huge guys in the gym and I think, wow... they're all on steroids. It's too bad they don't know about this stuff that I'm using." I was somewhat confused... and I asked him to explain.
"I mean... look at me. I haven't been at it for very long and I feel great. Steroids are bad news. Yeah... that **** really ****s you up..." and kinda went off on that for a while. Normally I'd have just laughed it off... but he was serious. I didn't know what to say. I was like, "hold on there... "
...a few minutes later....
"You mean this stuff I'm taking is steroids?"

I think his view on things has changed a little bit.

HEY! what's up guys? i've been just kinda hangin around this site and tryin to learn as much as possible from all of you guys. I've been readin for about two months now and have finally decided to make my presence known.

As for the way people think ... i totally agree with the fact that it is mostly people who either people who just are unhappy with their own acomplishments like sinep said or they just plain and simple don't know the facts and get all theif info from all the negative media out there. Also what i have come to find after talking to some friends about wanting to use gear in the future they just don't understand or comprehend the mind set and how strongly we feel about reaching our goals in whatever way we see fit.

I'm not tryin to sound like i have the experience and knowledge that some of you guys have...i'm not ...but i do know my own feelings and arguments i go through with peers and even older more experienced guys and the basic impression i get is that they have no idea what they're talking about but because they "heard of this guy dying of that stuff" they think they are some kind of expert on "the hazards of steroid use"...This really pi$$e$ me off considerind they are really just criticizing me because of what i want to do with my life while their only plan is to mooch and toke up.

I mean i am only sixten(well, in july) and i have no actual experience using the stuff but i do look at it as a very serious and realistic way of achieving my overall goals in bb. As for guys who see it as cheating and unnatural...pi$$ off we will do what we have to do to survive in competition and you do what you have to...

Anyway maybe that was some ranting but i could go on forever on this topic of what others think of gear so i'll leave it at that and i hope to read a lot more of your guys opinions and knowledge on everything to do with bb.

latr!

"To use the gear or not use the gear that is the question"

I personally doesn't see anything wrong with people use it in competition preparations, but I don't see the point of people that not are supposed to compete why they are using.
If they say because they want to get big then they should just train properly and do the supplements, and they should be happy with that. There is no point for a person who hasn't been training for att least a couple off years seriously to start using. When I say seriously I mean seriously, proper food, training. sleep and supplements. Not just type that trains a couple off month before each summer season.

I don't condone the use of steroids, nor do I disagree with it. It is everyone's personal choice. Some don't do it, some do it only occasionally and at moderate doses, and some abuse it by pumping as much as they can into their bodies. As with EVERYTHING in life, moderation is the key.

I'll tell you from my personal experiences that I personally have never suffered negative sides from the cycles I did during college - maybe I'm lucky, or maybe it's because I did them wisely, taking all precautionary measures possible. On the other hand, I HAVE suffered negative consequences from drugs & alcohol in my life.
I've smacked up a car and got a DUI. I've watched my grades slip as I smoked pot 5-6 times a day my junior year in college. I've been in drunken brawls, breaking my own hand, and hurting other people for stupid reasons. I've snorted enough coke to give me a 3 day bloody nose. I've been through addiction and the selling of Ecstacy.

So, to sum it all up, I wouldn't call steroids "good," but they sure as hell aren't on the top of my list of "bads." Steroids give users something that almost everyone wishes they had - bigger muscles. What do those other drugs give you besides a headache in the morning and a few less brain cells? Nothing. That's why there is the attitude towards steroid users. If you don't use steroids, you won't get muscles as big as if you did use them. If you don't use coke or drink alcohol, you're not missing out on anything, so there's nothing to be envious/jealous of.

There ya go Gino. You pretty much summed up my opinion on that matter. I would have to disagree with ya on the part about them not being good though. When used responsibly, they can improve the quality of life for a great many people. There are so many aspects of their use that are, as of yet, still not understood completely because of the social stigma surrounding their use.

Things are slowly turning around. A good deal of research is being done and now looked at by the medical community in a more mature, less predjudiced manner. People are beginning to rethink their stance on the issue of steroid use, as many benefit from them every day.

I believe that many lives can be vastly improved by the proper use of steroids. As society changes, I think that many will turn to AS use as they have with many other previously frowned upon medical procedures that have become common place. Education, responsibility and patience are the key.
