I agree orange, I never use them anyway. Rookie: that was my last workout, from now on I do heaviest first.

Why do you lower the weight? I wouldn't..

Accipiter
03-19-2002, 04:32 PM
cause my first set is my max weight, it's been suggested by several people in this forum.

heathj
03-19-2002, 04:34 PM
why not do..

80 x 6, 80 x 6, 8 x 5

Try something like that...you'll get stronger quicker then dropping down to 70. At least in my experience. Go for your highest weight, and highest reps, always...

Accipiter

Cause I go 80x6, and I can't get any more at 80, maybe 1 if I was lucky. I'm actually going to bump the 2nd set up to 75 next time though, 70 on the second set was too light.

Impressive DB press man.

How do you do them DB skulls? lying? how's your grip on them and DB placing?

Orange357

cool

Accipiter
03-22-2002, 08:44 PM
for skulls I do them sitting up. I put one hand right against the inside of the weighted part of the db, and the other part of my hand bracing it, so it don't slip.

Thanks for the compliment...orange is at the same spot too...

Alright here I go now, today I'm gonna try to get the 85s for at least 2 and try to get another half rep out. Not sure if I'll be able to cause I mistakingly tried to get a rep out yesterday at 85..hoep that doesn't hurt my efforts now.

Notes: wooooohoooooooo. Alright, first things first, I did some heavy weights not on first sets today, as is obvious. This was not intentional, I just happened to gain some strength since last workout in several exercises.

Although I got the 85's for 5 I didn't feel as if I was going deep enough. I definetly went deep enough for it to be considered a rep., but I like going a tad lower than most. Also my left arm was much farther away from my body than my right. On declines the 80*4 set, on the last rep my left shoulder tweaked out so I stopped there, I think I may have slightly pulled my left anterior delt, other than that, all is well.

Chest:
DB BENCH: 85*5 75*8 70*7
DB DECLINE: 75*9 80*4
Cable crosses: 8*9 9*14

Triceps:
Rev. Grip bench pressing: 70*15 90*10 100*6
Skulls: 90*11 95*8
Kickbacks: 27.5*7 22.5*8
1 hand underhand ext: 5*7

thanx man, I'm sure you'll rebound fast. Try to relax before you go to bed, don't be doing something, and then just jump in the sack..

Notes: I missed on the 90's, and I was a little hungry at the beginning, quite hungry by the end. Didn't let that stop me from having a great workout though. Tri's are fried again. For the first time in my life I actually feel like I have larger pecs, first time I've felt like I've got something out in front of me..it's a cool feeling
P.S. reverse close girp benching still creams my tri's

Chest:
DB Benching: 90-miss 85*6 75*9 70*8
DB Decline: 80*6 75*7
Cable X's: 9*7 8*10

Triceps:
Reverse Grip Benching: 110*8 110*5
Skulls: 95*9

Notes: sh*t sh*t sh*t F*CK! OOOOOOOOOH man. Talk about crashign and burning. Orange the contest might not be over yet, worst chest workout ever. Every few months my chest just gives out on me, sometimes for a couple weeks. Hopefully this was just a one time set back, but still. I had enough food in me, I slept fine, I was well hydrated...sh*t.

Flat Bench DB: 90*miss 85*miss 80*1 75*9

Oh, and on declines, I dropped the dbs after my 2nd set, and was resting, I went to unhook my feet and for some reason I got dizzy and fell off over one side, I think I might've actually flipped over. fvck

what weight you at for db pressing? I need someone to compete against...

Orange357
04-11-2002, 01:29 PM
how about the best increases in a couple of lifts? anything but db press

Accipiter
04-11-2002, 01:59 PM
dude, orange I have an idea,

ok, so assuming this past week was a fluke... it's gonna take me 15 more lbs to get to the 100's. let's see how long it takes me to get there. Then when you're better, and get back to the weight you were pressing before, see if you can get to the 100's quicker. that way the competition is still on, and we don't have to both be actively doing presses, so you can take time recovering.
