Before I started my journal I wanted to have some hard data. This is why yesterday I purchased a "Terraillon" scale with Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA).
These are the results I read out this morning:
---------------------------------
Weight: 73.8 KG
Skeletal Muscle Mass: 31.3 KG
Bone Mass: 4.0 KG
---------------------------------
Body Fat: 12.9%
Total Body Water: 60.6%
---------------------------------
Daily Calorie Reference: 3609
Optimal Weight: 77.4 KG
Optimal Calorie Reference: 3701
---------------------------------
I started 3 months ago, so probably put on more muscle faster than I ever will be able to, but I now have a number to focus on, 31.3 KG of muscle mass. I'm not too displeased by this number, but I look forward to seeing it go up. Next I'll measure how much I can lift, and I'll measure myself, and as time goes by I'll start graphing some of the data out in excel.
