So I would like peoples opinions on this subject. I was in a discussion with a friend of mine and he completly against the use of any gear. I on the other hand am all for it. And I was thinking about doing a cycle of test - e
I know from reading on here that it is not recommended to start gear unless you have been working out regularly for a few years and makes sense to me. But why wouldnt someone who has been lifting for about a year not try a cycle of test-e? I am sure they would make good gains from it and if they PCT correctly they should keep most of the gains correct? Also I know that lifting for only a year does not mean the body is close to hitting a wall size wise.
So the discussion is this
Would it be so bad to use a cycle to get a nice growth and then continue to work out hard after the cycle to basiclly get a boost in size? Thoughts...

Assuming you're 100% done growing (i.e. growth plates), you'd only be risking joint and ligament injuries. If you're body isin't used to having a lot of mass on it or isin't used to moving a lot of weight (i.e. iron in the gym) you're more prone to injury. That's why it's a good idea to have a couple years of working out so you don't stress and/or break your body under more intense conditions. You'll also probably get some nasty stretch marks if you put weight on too fast.
i'll be honest here. if you totally knew what you were doing (diet, training, etc.) then i don't see anything wrong with it after any amount of time training. that said, there's no way in hell you've got everything down after only lifting for a year. like cp said, it's a bad idea for newbs for a lot of different reasons and the subject has been beat to death.
you've got a lot of gains to make naturally and a lot to learn. give it a few more years. this is not a path you want to take right now.

Listen to RBB, this is great advice.
But as many people will all tell you not to do it, if you have your mind set up then you're still going to just like I did. It wasnt the smartest move. I could have had my diet down much much better before I ever started, but live and learn I guess.

Eat... research... sleep... eat reasearch sleep... I was looking for a quick fix and that was my conclusion... but really once i added up my calories.. It turned out i had to be eating alot more.... Focus on yer diet liek everyone says... take advice.... these people know what there talking about.. Yer here for ADVICE... now whether u choose to listen or not.. thats up to u...
But from my point of view.. im floating down that same river with you.. and everyone told me similiar stuff... And teh conclusion... Im reading up on stuff more than ever.. getting sources, cycles etc.. all the fun stuff info.. and stuffing my face...
Theres a quote floating around on the site i forget who has it i think hbhefner or something in his sig.... "Your a monster eat like one dammit"....
Its not hard to hit the high calorie mark... i think i used to only eat like 2000-2500 calories... nothing.... now im at like 3500-4000...

Well I am done growing. I am 31 years old. I am not a small person. I am 6' and 229. I am not a pig but I could lose my gut. I am alright with moving iron. I am currently doing a beefed up version on WBB1. And trying to go as heavy as possible.

Now when you started you said it wasnt the smartest move but I am sure after all the time you did that your where you want to be size wise right? And my point is that you didnt start under optimal conditions but you are jacked now because you continued to work out and eart big. Then when you got big you can cut from there and still keep extra muscle mass.
I am going to take all this great info and think about it. And you guys are right I am still trying to get everything straight ( diet, trianing, cardio ). Thanks for the info.

it would be a mistake for you to start using right now. put on some more size and get your bf% down. you'll want to know how to get and stay lean once you begin using AAS.

The only mistake I made and people make is not having their diet down. If you were a pro with your diet and routine then there's nothing stopping you.
