Here are some vids of yesterday's deadlift PR's for my squad.

My wife's is the first one and it's a 340 pull at ~141 BW.

Mine is the second one, a 560 pull at ~204 BW.

My brother-in-law Bill's is the third one, a 610 pull at ~220 BW.

Great lifts!
610 deadlift.... seems so far off for me. Once it gets above 500 the number becomes so desensitized.

very nice all of you. Im guessing your back was rounding just cause it was a pr. Or are my ideas of a well-executed deadlift obscured?

nice PR ryan. im pretty sure the upper back rounding is just another style of pulling you don't see too much, that some have great success with.

Thanks, everyone!

Believe me, between PR deadlifting and doing ME bench back to back, my body is screaming right now. I'm gonna hit the pool and hot tub today and let the jets and the heat do their job. :)

Re: the upper back rounding...it's fairly common when doing maximal or near-maximal weights. A lot of PL'ers round their upper back. As long as you don't round the LOWER back, you are okay.

Ahh ok thats what i thought. I knew a seasoned individual like yourself would know what he was doing.

Lynn has some damn good fight in her. She didn't give up on that and grinded it out.

Your pull looks a lot like mine. You hammer it off the floor and then have to work the last few inches.

Your brother-in-law killed that 610. Did he try and go heavier?

Wow. You made it look easy. That gym is gigantic. Is it a private gym or at some kind of University? The avatar, is that you or Henry Rollins?

Yes, this thread is OLD.

The gym was a university gym. The avatar is Henry Rollins, who is awesome and I'm told I resemble.

I agree. You look like him except for the lack of Tatoos up and down your arms. I worked a rountable type of talk show that is taped in Washington, DC (where he is from) and he was one of the guests/panelists. Incredibly intellectual and well spoken. He went toe to toe with the political pundits who were sitting at the table with him and made valid points and observations to the topics that were discussed.
We were all waiting for the guests to arrive and when he showed up I was taken aback. He is in fantastic shape.Huge arms full of tatoos.

I've heard Rollins is very direct and intimidating in person. True?

Btw, great lifts OP.

Before the show started I was in the restroom. As I was reaching for the door to leave he was on the other side pushing it open with his assistant/friend behind him. He politely said excuse me, I nodded, he nodded back, and that was that. That is not really an interaction to tell whether or not he is intimidating though. Just a way to prove he has manners. Working in TV in Washington, DC, I have come across several pricks and egomaniacs. Henry Rollins is not on that list.
