Kinda excited about this workout. 2 young guys to the sport hit over 600 at this workout (1 board) who have never done it before. 1 female hit a 300+ bench and 1 female hit a 250@132 during this workout. good day. still having stiffness today in the forearm from the workout.

I've always felt running put a lot of pressure on my knees.

Have you ever considered lower-impact cardio like fast walking on an incline or the stationary bike?

I used to have problems with my knees from running. I switched to Mizuno running shoes. they make a kind that is made for heavier folks. I dont remember what they are called. but I havent had problems since.

I dig running. cuz when other folks are spent on there last dead/bench/squat, I always had something left in the tank. and it helps make fat cells smaller.

My bodyweight has fluxed between 195-215 due to the fact that I had an injury to my foot and I couldn't run/do eliptical/star steppers or do alot of plyo jumps. Now that I am back running, my weight dropped me down to 195-205.

I wanna drop back down to 181 for 1-2 meets. Then go back up to 198 for the rest of my life.

Gotta get my strength back up before any big meets. thinkin about doing carps, a diablo meet(both upa), a uspf(venice), a wabdl and one of scot taylors meets.

trying to get faster at this point.

i gotta tell you about this girl that came to train with me
recently. this girl has never sqatted or deadlifted before.
she went to squat last week(raw) and i was amazed. she took
225x2 about 7" from the fricken floor then went 300 for a single(same depth). and then asked me if it was alright for a beginner. lol.
then we just had a workout where she deadlifted 315 like it was a joke.
she is a 165er but she has alot of baby fat on her. she is about 22 years old.
i am backing here off for a big training cycle in gear. she loads heavy stuff
on trucks for a living.

I love taking the ETS and RESULTS. It is helping me recover quicker than usual. So, I can push it a little bit harder every workout.

gonna attempt 771 saturday. cant wait.

next meet I just wanna put up a decent number and do it without pain. that would be the first time in over a year I wouldnt have any pain. Looking to open up light at 688(get one on the board), then go from there depending on how i feel.

I was proud of my team. I had 1 guy go over triple bodyweight in the dead. and 4 first timers pulling over 500.

My wife pulled 352 at 132! She had alot left in her.

I just did a token lift to test out the arm at 650@197 and it was easy. I missed 2 attempts at 750.

Dr. Edward Robey benched over 400 at 165 just getting over an injury.

pretty strict judging but only one person bombed out of about 20 lifters.

I started training for the uspf venice beach meet cuz some a$$ at the meet was saying I couldnt hit over 600 in a single ply.
Even though 2 years ago I hit 639 at wabdl worlds(drug tested) meet. Then I hit 700 in a single ply at a UPA meet at 198. Then they guy said it wasnt flatfooted. I guess some people just arent happy. I dont usually do this to shut people up. But, damn I have been hearing this sh%t for years. So, USPF, here I come.

I do pinpresses as much as I can. That way when the shirt stops working, I can lockout whatever is on the bar.

Thats just how they labeled people when I competed in the WPO. You had to hit a certain total or number to qualify.

I think people would consider you that if you hit over elite or hit certain numbers in the bench or dead.

Example: I had to hit a 551 bench to get into the WPO at 181.

I will look up the Elite totals for you. How much do you weigh?

Its been awhile. I went up to santa barbara to workout with thad coleman who is a
1000+ squatter and 700+ deadlifter. Its always cool to see him and bruce mendoza.
They are getting ready for the uspf push pull in venice beach. I was going to do it,

I have to take some time off. I am in so much pain that even 405 is hurting my forearm.
when I come back, I will take a shot at jay frys record at 181.

I got my body weight down to 192. I will cut to 181 and try to get back up to 200 after weigh ins.

Just an update. I havent done Jack but cardio for awhile. I plan on taking about 2 more weeks off to try to heal up some more before I get ready to turn it up.

Arm feels o.k. but I want it to get to 100%. I keep coming back early and f'n it up even more. so, if in a couple of weeks I dont feel 100%, I shouldnt do the olympia. This sucks. This is my first injury in 10 years.

Crazy strong in here! I just started working with my Katana today. I love the shirt so far. Do you have any videos of you working out in yours? I'd like to see a good video of someone how to use leg drive. Right now, I don't think I'm using any.

Btw, if you popped blood vessels in your eyes, how long does that take to heal, and what do you do for it?

2 weekends ago I hit 705 in my double ply at the AFPF war on the shore meet in
los angeles. The only video out there of this one was crappy. The guy doing the
video dropped the damn camera and you cant see sh%t. Kinda pissed me off.

The blood vessell thing goes away after about 3 or 4 days.

I got some tendionitis in my forearms from bad habits in the past of bending my wrists too far back.

I iced them alot, fixed my form and now put some liniment on before benching

Getting back to training tonight.

I did WPF worlds. went 661 and missed 705. won my open weight class
I was the only one who spoke english. It was cool to talk training with
the bulgarians, russians and germans. How they get through a training
cycle without getting hurt is beyond me. lol. The one russian guy said he trained
the bench 4 times a week!

I dont understand for the life of me why there is a submaster division?
anyone? I dont get it.

I didnt know that was the number to hit. I asked what the record was and they said 628. But, I didnt ask what the highest number was. I guess I assumed it was the WR. That is why I went to 705 on my third. Well, now I know after the fact. I had about 4 people tell me afterwards. lol

I think we should do it. It would be fun and we could push each other. You know, We will have to find a meet and meet in the 220s even though i said I wouldnt do it again. I love the competition. I will send you a message with my number. We can find a venue for both of us to lift. How does that sound? I heard a story about the contest you and Ryan had. hey preist have not forgot about you just been really busy with everything. what meet u hitting? double ply i take it? u know im going to bust your balls if u out bench your dead by 100 pounds hahahahaha. i am hitting an ipa meet soon also. i usually do uspf, ipa and hit 1 pro/am a year. i am waiting for uspf to put out there list of meets for this year. going to try a uspf full meet for the first time in like 10 years and try and do some damage. my body weight is still light so if that keeps up i will be 220 for awhile but we will see.

Actually, my dead is getting better. I just switched to sumo and
tweaked my technique a little bit. I you might as well start busting balls
now. I keep getting gains in the gym in the bench and squat. dead is
slooooowly going up.

Hopefully, we can hit a meet together. We have that one meet that is being
proposed. that would be fun. i think i sent you my phone number. call me
and we will do a meet together before your no longer a 220er.

i have a 3 lift in march. then after that ? gotta find out when i am not working.
probably do a venice beach meet next year.

I have been nursing an injured shoulder due to me pushing cars.

I told Lance I would do his meet April 3rd. So, I am doing it.

Sundays workout.

we will see how the squat goes this week.
That way I will gauge if I am doing all three.
If I do all three, I will probably just take a token
opener. Just until I get the grip back in that hand.

Finally back to lifting full strength. Now having shoulder issues. Doc wants to go in and clean it out.lol

I did Lance Karabels USPF meet. Judges were Ed Coan, Young and Scott Smith.

Benched 675@218. Missed 705 at lockout. Looking to hit 705 at the olympia.
Just trying to decide weather to cut to 198 or stay at 220.

I am scheduled for surgery next week on my shoulder. Trying to get them to move it up.
Only 4-6 weeks healing time. Gotta get back in the gym. I am going to use this time to
get weight down and stay a 198er.

Did plyo jumps today. Trying to get more explosive.
Also ran 2 miles. It was cool. Had my ipod in.

******* PT guy was poking at my f'n shoulder.

Ordered reverse hyper today.

still too stiff to get my grip on the squat bar.
Only time i feel discomfort is when I put the
squat bar on my back. Which sucks, cuz the
squat is my favorite lift to train.

did floor presses with 405.

feels great to be back. gotta work on speed, balance,
stiffness and lats.
